Test fitting my winter tires (285/70R17) on stock wheels. No lift, no spacers (still waiting on both). So far looks like only trimming of inner fenders will be necessary. Very surprised! Stay tuned for more updates.
No need to apologize. Your suggestion was bang on actually. I’ve had several trucks with KO2s in the past and you are right that they are a better choice “overall” for an occasional off-roader ... and I also found them awesome in the snow, important where I live. For the everyday guy the street...
Diamonback cover is what you want if you dont want to open it while the rack is on.
Check out this guy’s review of it and check out his other videos with his complete setup.
That is one awesome looking rack! I would probably flip my Yakima rack I have on order for this one ... so long as it would be compatible with my Embark/Retrax cover ... I hate having to choose between a cool rack or a secure/closed bed.

That last picture just confirmed I picked the right offset for my wheels (same as yours: -12) to go with my Bushwacker flares. I like the way yours looks “naked” but I love my paint more! lol ... and our cops here are pretty zealous about not covering up your tires (provincial law against it).
Here are a few more “less exciting” (but very practical) accessories that have been installed.
The cylinder for the cover is less intrusive than I expected!
Good to know, thanks! I wasn’t too familiar with the brand but read some good reviews from Tacoma owners and also from the parts manager at my dealer who’s a Jeep fanatic. Can’t wait!
Got tired of waiting around for BDS to release their Ranger kit so I ordered Icon’s kit instead. Ajustable up to 3.5” of lift. Should take around 10 days to get it in. Will keep you guys posted.
Kinda ashamed to post this but I started this thread and don’t have any of the “main” mods come in yet so what was supposed to go on last ends up going up first.
But...
This stripe kit did give me a good 15hp increase, certified by a genuine PoserPower Dyno.
Also the manufacturer...
