In the 5 months I’ve owned mine I don’t remember seeing one on the street yet! And I live in a very good truck market (Canada’s national capital region): hot construction sector, lot’s of nearby “outdoorsy” activities to do. But I do see lot’s of the old Rangers! They sold really well here.

Hey @Icon! You guys are starting to suck! You should’ve been upfront when you accepted orders that you weren’t « weeks away » from shipping your kits but rather « months ». Was it all a ploy to lock customers in ... and away from other companies?

I was also initially looking at a hard roll-up but since I planned on having crossbars over the bed it became obvious the retractable kind was the way to go. I would also recommend going this route if, like me your truck is a “lifestyle” vehicle and not a work truck ... just wished I had waited...

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Our Rangers ARE NOT equipped like the Euro/Aussie Wildtrak version with mounting holes for roof bars. The dealership employee who gave me the “fake news”, obviously, isn’t employed there anymore.

Rhino-Rack is coming out with a product shortly (in a few days they told me via email) called the Backbone mounting base. You will be able to put their Pioneer platform (or tray) on it. But from “how-to” videos I’ve watched on Youtube it seem like a job for professionals, as in lots of cutting...

I just learned today, after I had already ordered parts for it, that the info is WRONG. There are NO pre-drilled mounting holes under the drip moldings. The dealership employee who assured me they were there is no longer working for them.

Ok so it seems I’ve been given the wrong info and in turn gave all you guys wrong info also. The North American Ranger does NOT come equipped with mounting holes for roof bars as “standard equipment”. The only “holes” that are there are for the 4 screws that hold the drip moldings in place (2...

To answer my own question (lol): so far I’m leaning a lot more towards the Wildtrak bars because, although the Backbone looks much better (and cooler, way cooler!), the bars seem to be more versatile. As in I can put whatever I want on the roof bars (another type of tray, crossbars, cargo box...

Ok so took a long time but I have an answer: there are pre drilled holes on the roof just like the ROTW Ranger so I ordered the Wildtrack roof rails on Ebay (dealer did actually) to mount my Rhino-Rack Pioneer tray. That’ll be the temporary set-up until Rhino-Rack makes their Backbone mounting...

Still waiting for a reply. Last email from Icon in March said they were shipping end of March or early April. Really starting to suck cause noise from studded tires on clean black top is getting annoying and want to get tire swap with suspension work.
