  1. The Weekend Warrior

FINALLY! ... Icon 3’’ lift, Fuel wheels and BF Mud installed ... this was a textbook case of Murphy’s law! lol
  2. The Weekend Warrior

Although they are mounted in a very sturdy fashion, more so than regular running boards, they’re “Rock Sliders” in name only!
  3. The Weekend Warrior

I’m hoping to update my build soon. Icon suspension kit has finally shipped. It hit a little unexpected delay at the border but was resolved, should be receiving this week hopefully. Wildtrack roof bars are in from Thailand, so will install my Rhino-Rack platform on the roof at the same time I...
  4. First Encounter in the "Wild" (Ranger's Spotted Megathread)

In the 5 months I’ve owned mine I don’t remember seeing one on the street yet! And I live in a very good truck market (Canada’s national capital region): hot construction sector, lot’s of nearby “outdoorsy” activities to do. But I do see lot’s of the old Rangers! They sold really well here.
  5. The Weekend Warrior

Had to vent cause I’m back to running stock tires since April 1st because warm weather (and local bylaws) prevent me from running my studded winter tires. Now truck looks really stupid with big flares and skinny tires! BTW 295/70R17 don’t fit with just a level kit, there’s a slight rub at full...
  6. The Weekend Warrior

Hey @Icon! You guys are starting to suck! You should’ve been upfront when you accepted orders that you weren’t « weeks away » from shipping your kits but rather « months ». Was it all a ploy to lock customers in ... and away from other companies?
  7. Soon to be Emergency Ranger

I was also initially looking at a hard roll-up but since I planned on having crossbars over the bed it became obvious the retractable kind was the way to go. I would also recommend going this route if, like me your truck is a “lifestyle” vehicle and not a work truck ... just wished I had waited...
  8. The Weekend Warrior

Sorry man! Can’t help you there. They were installed at the dealership and they didn’t give me the instruction sheet.
  9. Rhino-Rack roof platform

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Our Rangers ARE NOT equipped like the Euro/Aussie Wildtrak version with mounting holes for roof bars. The dealership employee who gave me the “fake news”, obviously, isn’t employed there anymore.
  10. Permanent Rack threads on Ranger Roof?

Rhino-Rack is coming out with a product shortly (in a few days they told me via email) called the Backbone mounting base. You will be able to put their Pioneer platform (or tray) on it. But from “how-to” videos I’ve watched on Youtube it seem like a job for professionals, as in lots of cutting...
  11. Permanent Rack threads on Ranger Roof?

I just learned today, after I had already ordered parts for it, that the info is WRONG. There are NO pre-drilled mounting holes under the drip moldings. The dealership employee who assured me they were there is no longer working for them.
  12. The Weekend Warrior

Ok so it seems I’ve been given the wrong info and in turn gave all you guys wrong info also. The North American Ranger does NOT come equipped with mounting holes for roof bars as “standard equipment”. The only “holes” that are there are for the 4 screws that hold the drip moldings in place (2...
  13. The Weekend Warrior

Here you go, hope this helps.
  14. The Weekend Warrior

There’s a bunch of them on eBay sold mostly by Thailand tuning shops so buy at your own risk! I have no idea which one my dealer went with. Here are a few links of the screw in ones...
  15. The Weekend Warrior

To answer my own question (lol): so far I’m leaning a lot more towards the Wildtrak bars because, although the Backbone looks much better (and cooler, way cooler!), the bars seem to be more versatile. As in I can put whatever I want on the roof bars (another type of tray, crossbars, cargo box...
  16. Rhino-Rack roof platform

For those interested: the canadian headquarters of Rhino-Rack just confirmed that they will be selling their Backbone roof top platform mounting system for the Ranger in the next few weeks. It’s a product they already sell for the ROTW Ranger. And also for those interested my dealer confirmed...
  17. The Weekend Warrior

Update from Rhino-Rack: For those interested in mounting a platform to the roof of your Rangers, Rhino-Rack has just confirmed to me by email that their Backbone mounting system (shown in post above) will be available in the next 2 weeks or so. Guess I’ll have a decision to make soon: Wildtrak...
  18. The Weekend Warrior

Ok so took a long time but I have an answer: there are pre drilled holes on the roof just like the ROTW Ranger so I ordered the Wildtrack roof rails on Ebay (dealer did actually) to mount my Rhino-Rack Pioneer tray. That’ll be the temporary set-up until Rhino-Rack makes their Backbone mounting...
  19. The Weekend Warrior

Latest reply is that it’s now pushed back to last week of April. :curse:
  20. The Weekend Warrior

Still waiting for a reply. Last email from Icon in March said they were shipping end of March or early April. Really starting to suck cause noise from studded tires on clean black top is getting annoying and want to get tire swap with suspension work.
