  1. Draining oil without replacing filter

I would change the filter along with the oil. I wouldn't worry about filter sealing. As everyone suggests...turn the wheel full right for clearance...remove the splash shield for access...get a fairly large drain pan to catch what that "drip channel" misses and just remove it. Make sure the...
  2. Coolant Mix Ratios?

I had to add some coolant last summer after 60,000 miles and went to the dealer and got a gallon of their straight antifreeze...mixed it 50-50 with distilled water and topped off the tank. I agree with everyone that the 50-50 mix is the way to go to get optimal freeze/boilover protection. It...
  3. Hello All + Ranger Advertising Question(s)

I would tend to agree with all the guys on the above posts. With Ford, as well as GM...it's all about the full-size trucks. They are the big profit makers. and, especially this year for the F-150...they're about to make it to 50 years as the " World's Best Selling Truck" They are going to do...
  4. Auto STOP crap going away

10-4 on the ritual...it's automatic for me now to start the truck with the right hand...and then immediately move it to the A/S/S button. also, I don't use the lane keeping assist either... it doesn't really do much anyway, except slightly jiggle the wheel.
  5. Side storage boxes for the bed.

I have them on both sides and have been very happy with them. I guess the best thing about them is that you can store "small" items in them without just letting them roll around the bed. I keep my tire inflator...a small tool kit for my camper...tie down straps, etc. in them and it is a great...
  6. 2019 Ranger lariat new member

Welcome to the Forum Brian !! that's a sweet looking truck, especially the white color with those wheels !! I'm sure you will be very happy with it.
  7. Oil changes when towing 3500 lb. trailer

I tow a 4500 lb. trailer and get 12-14 mpg using Premium fuel. This is keeping the speed at 65 mph... if I go over that or am in hilly terrain it drops down more. As far as oil changes go... I do it anywhere from 5-6k, depending on travelling using Mobil 1. 60k on truck now and have had no problems.
  8. Fuel Brand Preference

I hauled gasoline for many years and only use Top Tier brands because, even though all gasolines come from the same tank, the Top Tier ones have a better additive package. I prefer Shell and Exxon/Mobil because they give price discounts when using their cards.
  9. My towing mileage sucks!

I've got a '21 XL with factory tow and a 4000 lb. trailer....add in the usual "gear" and I'm probably hauling 4500-5000 lbs. I have towed at 70-75 mph and gotten around 11.5 mpg. Slowing to 65 brought it up to 12-13.5.
  10. New Member North GA

Hi there Greg...welcome to the forum !! Obviously, I am a fan of the Super Cab also and it looks great in that color. Like that soft topper too....didn't know they made them.
  11. Purchasing a used 2021 Ranger XLT

60K on my 2021 Super Cab and only problem so far has been a battery. I know there are some transmission problems out there.... but all I could recommend is do trans fluid/filter changes regularly and go out and enjoy that truck!! I think you will ultimately find it to be a good purchase.
  12. My Ranger rides like crap. Help!

My "21 Scab with no modifications did seem to ride pretty well when I got it with the stock Bridgestones... but, like you did....I dropped the PSI to 32 from 35 and did notice a bit better ride. I now have some replacement Michelins which seem to ride the same.
  13. Purchasing a used 2021 Ranger XLT

Welcome to the forum....that's a sweet looking truck !!! All I might add on this subject is that my 2021...65K now...bought brand new..has had only one problem in the time I have owned it....the battery went bad at 37k. Otherwise, it's been a great truck and it works perfectly for my needs. As...
  14. Oops! Let’s Play the Guessing Game

I know how bad you feel.... I'm just like you. I always park in the farthest corner of the parking lot....bought a car cover just for hotels...etc.....do everything I can to keep my truck looking showroom fresh....but I ended up with a "mystery" scrape on my rear bumper......just like you have...
  15. Out with the old, in with new.

I run 32 psi all around for normal driving with Michelin Defenders....it rides better....but I go back to 35 when towing my camper.
  16. Discount on RockAuto Parts!

I've been buying parts from them for years, and never had a problem with quality. I've heard that story about "fake" Motorcraft parts... but my understanding is that there are outfits out there that use "look alike" Motorcraft packaging and are selling knock off parts as genuine. As far as I...
  17. Back Seat covers for my 2021 Ranger XLT extended cab. I dont have a bench seat its 50/50 jump seats i need covers for

I have a Super Cab also and I got the fronts from the Ford Accessory catalog. I have the "Carhartt" style ones, which are 4 years old now and still in excellent shape...even with a VERY messy hunting dog...they wash right out..no problem. I couldn't find any Super Cab rears..so I just got Fords...
  18. Help please for a non tire guy buying his first tires after OEM

I recently replaced the OEM Bridgestones on my 2021 Ranger with a set of Michelin Defender LTX MS2 tires. I have only put about 3K on them but I can say they are as good as or slightly better than the Bridgestones. My situation seems similar to yours....the truck is used for mostly highway...
  19. Discount on RockAuto Parts!

Sweet lookin' 69. I always liked Black Jade green.
  20. Can't remove back headrests (supercab)

I forgot about that recall....I have been getting notices about it since the truck was practically new. I have had it over to the Ford dealer several times about it and not really gotten much information. All I have learned is that it has "something to do " with the rear headrests and the...
