My battery will be 6 years old, so I plan to replace it before a cross-country trip this spring. I’ve seen posts on this site that state you need a Forscan device (or similar), which I don’t have, to do a BMS reset. I’d like to get a definitive answer on this, so I went through version 4 of the...
LOVE that movie, and it's very apropos ... every time we travel we come home with rocks and/or sea shells (my wife, not me!).
I was filling up at a gas station once and my wife said, "I'm going into the bathroom." I thought she meant into the gas station restroom, she meant into the trailer. I...
I have a 2019 Ranger Lariat and wanted to know how much current the Ranger typically allows over the 7-pin charge wire to determine if I should power a DC-DC charge via the 7-pin charge wire or not. I couldn't find anything online, so I decided to do a little test to measure it.
My trailer has...
I have a 2019 Lariat SuperCrew with all stock suspension and a 1438# payload. I have a rigid bed cover, running boards, bed liner and I carry a bunch of tools (to be able to fix the many required repairs of the Airstream). I tow a 22 ft, 4500# gross Airstream with a WD hitch with 600# bars. My...
Yes, a LOT of debris; in the center it was at least 1/3 up from the bottom. See this link: https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/radiator-removal-without-condenser-removal-overheating-due-to-chipmunk-debris-bugs-vegetation.30090/#post-687020
I understand your situation; I was just trying to add some clarification for others as to how the gauge works.
I'm pretty sure I solved my overheating issue by removing the debris I mentioned; I haven't towed yet so I can't confirm.

I have a 2019 and have had it overheat while towing (pretty sure it was due to debris between radiator and A/C coil) and the gauge jumps from normal to overheated. Cools down and jumps from overheated to normal. I believe this is the way this gauge works. It rises from cold to normal over...
I installed the FIA bug screen and the M2M Grille Insert (I returned the Putco; it seemed like a lot more effort to install than it needed to be). I attached 13-mesh stainless steel screen (about same opening size as the FIA) to the back of the M2M insert, except where the ACC sensor is. The...
Will do. It's not my first choice, but seems like the best I've been able to find.
I wish auto mfrs incorporated a slide-out filter like room air conditioners have. Makes so much more sense than getting junk in your cooling coils!

So, I'm pretty sure I solved my overheating-when-towing-uphill problem by cleaning a bunch of leaves and debris from the various coils. Now I'd like to get a screen for the grille and area below the grille to stop the debris from getting embedded in the coils. I looked at the FIA GS902-27 which...
Thanks! I ended up removing the plastic around the hood latch and the plastic baffle/piece above the clips. Then I finally got them released. The middle one was the most difficult to do without looking a hole in anything. Many thanks! Mark
