I just put in the Icon leaf springs yesterday but the ride quality compared to the stock springs are much better and quite noticeable. The frost is coming out of the roads here in N. Illinois and the country roads are atrocious so it's easy to get a feel for how they soak up the bumps. I have...
Oh man, this brings back memories. We did the same thing. Sliding around corners in my buddy's Escort, ramping the occasional intersection in my other buddy's old 72 Buick Lesabre. I'm surprised we're still all alive.
Hey Phil, we definitely have cats (that do crap, I would say a normal amount). My wife is a potter so she uses the empty litter containers to store scrap clay while shes making mugs, and bowls and plastes and such. I rifled through her stash and stole them for stands!
It's taken me awhile but I can cross DIY bed cap off the list. I still have a few minor things to finish up but they can wait till it's a few degrees above freezing to wrap up. I need to figure out a better way to seal the back hatch against the top of the tailgate. I need to install the third...
If you have mice in your cab I have a feeling setting traps outside the vehicle won't be enough to deter them from continuing to access the warm cozy confines of your truck. I would read through this thread and maybe go through some of the fixes to keep them from getting in the cab.
What's the deal with the integrated front bumper(with basically every truck, I guess). I absolutely love the fact that the current Ranger has an actual bumper. I was on the fence about getting something aftermarket but I don't want to mess up the look. I am of the opinion of OFC. This is yucky.
It's definitely no fun trying to get your hands and anything else back by the firewall. My wife seemed a little concerned with all the cussing while I was screening mine off but it's been about 2 months since I did this and I haven't had a mouse in the cab since.
I built my own. Was about 200 bucks worth of metal(If I remember right?). I used 2"x4" .125" wall steel tube. I wanted something that acts as a steep for my daughter as well as a slider. Coated with Raptor liner.
I did get them installed and had an alignment done. They are very nice build quality, super beefy, I'll let Colton dive into comparing the SPC's to other options and their adjustability. I was ready for the Icon's and waiting for the group buy to go but that's been months waiting and started...
I know SPC has control arms for both aluminum and cast knuckles. I got mine from Hotshot Offroad. A bit cheaper than the other options as well but tried and true on many other trucks.
Hotshot Offroad SPC Upper Control Arms
Here is the front window. It's just from an old topper I picked up off Facebook marketplace. Much cheaper than buying a new one, they run over 200 new and I paid 50 bucks for the topper from an 20 year old f-150. I used rivnuts to secure it to the bulkhead.
I stole this idea from Super...
Here's mine so far, also inspired by Ripcord but I wasn't looking for a wedge camper on top. I had the roof rack rails cut at Send, Cut Send, and have been waiting on the 8020 extrusion for the rack for a while. Still working on the top panel and the back hatch. I also have a window with a...
We usually get 10 days at or below -10F here in N Illinois and I've never heard of anyone using a block heater on a gas engine, maybe a few hundred miles north of us. We have one on our Ram diesel and it regularly gets plugged in on those nights. We just plug it in at night if we know we are...
I can tell you that is not the case with these trucks. if your arms were small enough you could stick it through those holes when the truck is off. There is a mechanism there over the cabin air filter but it appears to be part of the recirculation function.
