I was curious after watching that video if anyone else had it move from 4lo to 4hi.
glad to see it’s not automatic.
I did however one day some how put it in 4hi and didn’t even notice until I realized the truck was driving tighter and sure enough I was in 4hi. I must have bumped the knob...
mine is intermittent as well. the more i drive the less i notice it's there. colder temps make it more apparent too.
personally, i don't feel it is pinion angle or the carrier bearing but something with the torque converter.
For those that get wheels with a larger hub bore (which is most) i highly recommend these.

I noticed that i kept feeling a vibration at around 70mph. Like a light rumble. I brought them in to be balanced and DT did a...
Measured my angles as follows.
Carrier bearing is at 8.3* down
drive shaft is at 10.1*
pinion is at 8.3* up
this is with the 1/8” spacer on the carrier bearing.
since the carrier and pinion cancel out I could only imagine angling he pinion up more would cause more vibrations. Not less.
also...
i installed a 1/8" spacer to drop the carrier bearing. I noticed no change. Based on bolt length, I don't want to go any longer as there are not enough threads.
My shudder occurs at 13mph. It is slight and goes away the more i drive. sometimes being completely gone which if was an 'angle'...
1/2" shims? Your original post says you're at 1/8" shims.
I have the take off vibration but it's not 'bad'. After loosening the carrier bearing bolts and letting it settle a bit and re-tightening that helped some. Going to try the 1/8" shim as a test.
i had a 17 TRD OR for 2 years. 30k miles. I liked the truck, but that transmission sucks so bad along with Toyota's tuning. Truck was horrible on the interstate. I even went so far as to re-gear it to 4.30's and though it helped, with tiny 32" tires it still went to 4th at 70 on the...
Right, just wanted to make sure it's safe to tow with the tune. When towing you don't want to throw high boost, advanced timing under heavy load. Hence why diesel guys get a tow tune vs a power tune etc.
i'd be careful running h9's in the foglight. they produce more heat and you could melt the housing.
also, they make h11 to h9 adapters on amazon so you don't have to modify the bulb
I wanted to ask if the standard soft shift 91-93 tune adapted to anything in tow haul mode?
i know a lot of truck tuners provide dedicated tow mode tunes for turbo charged applications where a performance tune would not do well.
Just wanted to share my installation notes on a hardwired to the interior fuse block powered dash cam and how i ran the wiring.
I used a BlueSkySea B1W dash cam from Amazon. I have this model in both my vehicles and it works great. Just be sure to upgrade to the latest firmware if you have an...
