Just a FYI. Past trouble codes remain in the ECU memory unless physically cleared with a scan-tool. But if the CEL is out then there is no current fault.
Happened to run into this one trolling e-bay
It lights up as well. Have different colors available. I have a Lariat so I cant test fitment but thought I’d share.

Almost forgot I have an ARB cooler. I’ll have to check the specs for power consumption vs the outlet rating. I know for sure I’ll be using it to inflate the kids water toys at the river.
Yea, The bed isn’t a virgin anymore with the Touchlink lighting install. So what’s one more hole. Lol. I think I will keep a jumper pack plugged into it and bungee it to the neighboring bed cleat. Mine always seems to be dead when I need to use it.
Yea. I really dont get why the Touchlink kit has you run a harness all the way up to the battery with a perfecty good power supply right under the bed. . I’ll put a load on it and see how long it stays energized with the truck off and locked.
Outboard frame rail. Drivers side rear just above the Leaf spring rear shackle. It has a termination cap installed (no wires). It is powered at all times regardless of key position although it may be controlled by the BCM. In which case the BCM will shut it down if there is excessive power draw...
I remember seeing a thread about someone wondering why Ford didn’t have a glovebox light in these trucks. The Lariat does for sure so may be worth a look to anyone who has an inop glovebox light. Or thought they didn’t actually have one.
Installed the Ford Touchlink LED bed lighting today. They are wired completely independent of any other lighting (basically the long harness it comes with ties to the battery). All 4 lights are switched on and off simultaneously by pressing and holding any of the 4 light lenses. I opted to find...
Sitting at a stoplight with a merge just ahead. A lowered gumby green honda with a fart can exhaust came up beside me. He was trying to beat the line. The light turned green and I mashed the pedal. Needless to say he got to stare at R A N G E R for a while.
IIHS and NHTSA crash tests are performed using vehicles bought from car dealerships. Not supplied by the manufacturer. This keeps the game fair and keeps mfgs from potentially cheating. Since our models are so new and have just been released, they have yet to test them. They however need to pass...
Exactly! And here lies the issue with the Ranger. Both buttons (defrost and vent) can not be simultaneously selected. If you have vent selected and press defrost, it cancels the vent selection. And vis versa. There must be some sort of physical difference in the doors that control the airflow...
Am I crazy or is it impossible to have the climate control mode set to defrost and dash vents at the same time. The buttons on the sync display simply wont allow it. There is no issue setting defrost and floor to run simultaneously. Can anyone confirm? Lariat with dual zone climate. I want my...
Got my Line-X done today. I removed all the tie downs and plugs before hand. Including the two large plastic ones at the front of the bed. They “corked” the threaded holes before spraying. I Had no issues with removing or damaging the tie down bolts at all. Just used a standard ratchet.
