I’m just saying it can be done. Most trucks 20 years ago weren’t pre wired. They were borderline reckless without that automatic emergency braking though.
*All rangers can install a trailer brake controller.
Some of them require a 45min install time and some of them 4 hours for a full wire job.
I did my own and didn’t bother incorporating the automatic emergency braking.
My truck came with steel wheels all around but the spare is some weird black aluminum thing. It seems to be a regular tire but it’s marked 50mph max.

The old nut is still there, I used a longer bolt and went through it.
There’s no seeing what you’re doing, all done by feel. I lost a socket in the frame rail if I remember correctly.
I just drilled straight through the old one and put a new nut on top I didn’t extract anything. There’s a spacer that comes with the sumo Springs that I could’ve not used But I like the stance it has with the spacers in.
I got the other side out with a weak impact. I let it hammer on the bolt for what felt like five minutes. I don’t think it helped but then I put my big impact on and it came out like nothing.
I think the little impact loosened it without breaking it.
