I will admit I get a lot of sidewall flex with my265/75r16 p metric standard load tire.
I wonder if a load range E would be more stable.
I run 235/85r16 load range E winter tires and don’t think the ride is too harsh.
I put bilstein 5100 on. The ride is more controlled but it is not a softer ride at all.
Did the rear shocks myself. It was $900! in labor to have the fronts done and aligned.
No. I have the base xl truck, I had to add the seven way and the brake controller wiring.
I’m not sure my truck has the capacity to know when it’s towing. The brake controller does though.
View from the rear, the 4 way plug doesn’t stand out too much but I’ve got a lot going on back there.
Excuse the potato quality photo and finger half over the camera. The sun was in my face and a wasp was after me. lol
Also a shot of my fancy hardware.
I didn’t want to pull it all apart but this is what I think is going on.
The black box is connected to the four way and the white wire is tapped into a grey and brown? wire from the truck harness. That must be the reverse.
Sounds like something the dealer would say.
When I had them put my new tires on my stock rims(steel)they broke a tpms sensor. They told me the sensor had stopped working because “Some tires just don’t work with the sensors.” They went on to say that I could try a new sensor if I payed for it but...
I run 235/85r16 Firestone winterforce at 32” tall. I usually run blizzacks but couldn’t find any on short notice. No complaints.
Summer is 265/75r16, slightly shorter tire.
I got an extra set of steelies shipped to me for $200.
I’ve heard the Ram 1500s are more stable towing than the f150, possibly because it’s heavier.
It’s actually my biggest complaint of the Ranger. It gets blown around even without a trailer imo.
