I am tired of it as well. Mine shutters about 99% of the time. I have had the TSB done twice with little improvement. My shudder severity varies all the time. As the amount of fuel on board changes, so does the shudder. When it is cold outside, the shudder is sometimes worse. In other...
I wonder if they would say the same thing if you had an oil leak and all of the trucks on the lot also leaked? That's a B.S. answer which indicates to me they either don't know the cause or it is too expensive to fix.
My covers were replaced, and the replacements were a little bitty bit better. I now have about 6000 miles on the truck and the seats still look bad, but are no worse than when the new covers were put on. The fact is...whoever makes these for Ford does a really bad job, and Ford apparently has...
There has to be someone at Ford that smart enough to find the cause and come up with a fix instead of this driveshaft shimming crap. I still believe Ford knows the cause and the fix, but doesn't want to spend the money required to fix the trucks that have it.
I agree with you for the same reasons you state. I think it is caused by something else. My vibration is there the majority of the time, but does go away every once in awhile. It goes away without me changing the load in the truck or anything else for that matter.
I wonder how many trucks have this issue? Unfortunately, mine might be one of them. Yesterday, I was riding passenger in my truck while my wife drove. The ventilation system was set where the heat was blowing out of the dash vents and was set for 72 degrees. After the truck warmed up, I...
No, I was not given the shims. I am good friends with the Service Manager and he told me to come back anytime if I wanted to try anything else to get the shudder out. I may do that, but before I do, I want to measure the angle again myself. It will be awhile as I am recovering from wrist...
Hi, Phil, my shudder is on takeoff. It happens not too long after I start moving. If I take off very slowly, I can barely feel it. When taking off normally is when I feel it, and it is just there for a second or two.
Ford is focused on the driveshaft angles. I have had the TSB done twice on mine (once while I watched) and the shudder is the same as before the TSB. What makes me think the problem "might" be something other than the driveshaft angle is how it is somewhat worse at times and at other times...
Thanks, Ogden Dan. I appreciate your comment. The comment from Ranger Pride surprised me as I have not come across anyone else on here that has made a comment like his. Prior to this, everyone has been helpful. That says a lot about the makeup of those on the forum who are eager to help and...
I wonder why Ford didn't remedy this prior to the truck going into production? You know they had to have experienced it during testing and development.
My Lariat shudders almost all the time when accelerating from a stop. My truck also runs rough when cold....transmission/tc jerks like it doesn't know when to shift or how to shift smoothly. I had the dealer flash the software a few weeks ago. After that, the truck shifted a lot better, but...
You have perfectly described what I am feeling in mine. If I slowly accelerate, it is not as bad as when I accelerate more aggressively or when accelerating while making a turn. What I don't understand is why the shudder is not consistent. On very rare occasions I am not able to feel it. I...
