When I purchased the Ranger I also purchased the Ford hard folding tonneau cover. Issue is it's on backorder with no ETA.
I figure Ford doesn't make these and they just source them from someone. Any idea who that is?
It seems like a few aftermarket ones are 3 folding sections, I do like that...
You lose auto start stop. If I had to guess it allows the start stop to monitor battery voltage as it won't activate if the battery is low for obvious reasons. The system thinks the battery is low all the time with the connector unplugged.
FORScan is certainly a fairly easy way to disable the Start Stop "Feature", But I can give you a way to disable it even easier...
Pop the hood and look at the battery terminal on the drivers side. Unplug the little connector sticking out the side of the terminal. (Typical locking connector, you...
I found these and they were really pretty nice kits for cheap. Even included a piece for the hidden storage compartment under the rear seat...

Really seems odd to have a manual key in 2021.
I have just added the Terrain Management button the other day and it got me thinking, Could I also add a push button start without much hassle?
I'm guessing it would also need new key fobs which are usually pricy, so I'm guessing this isnt going to...
If I detach the cables for the tailgate, will it continue to hinge down out of the way without having to unbolt it? If it dropped down enough I could just put the ramps on the bed directly....
Edit... This answered that question, looks like it would just fall right out without the cables. So...
I went with the 6 foot bed as I wanted the room to put in the motorcycles in the back with the tailgate up. So while driving I'm not worried about it. Just while loading/unloading and putting too much weight on the tailgate...
I thought I read somewhere that the rating of the tailgate was right under 500lbs.
Is this limit based on the cables? Not sure if they make a more heavy duty cable.
I have a few bikes and one of them is 500lbs. So that certainly seems ok, until I also stand on the tailgate while loading, then...
I'll lower them a few PSI. We see pretty crazy temperature swings here so setting them cold in the morning will have them up a few psi just by sitting, then hit the highway and up a few PSI more...
Our truck was still on delivery so we test drove one that had the same options. They have the black appearance package, so they came with the 18inch all terrain tires. I was thinking maybe the aggressive tires contribute to some of this... (As you can tell i'm not a truck person)
30 PSI cold is what we have as well. But once the day warms up and I'm on the highway for a bit the built in tire pressure screen shows 41 PSI. What are you guys seeing in your tire screens after driving for a bit?
The dealer did indeed forget to check tire pressures, they were anywhere from 46 to 40. However I fixed that the day I took delivery. I had to go over the whole truck and remove some crayon and scratches as well. (I feel like this happens at every dealer now, vehicle prep is now just wash it and...
So this truck is brand new and I can feel a vibration that seems constant. Usually if a wheel is out of balance you would notice it more the faster you go. This doesn't seem to do that.
If I have a plastic grocery bag in the passengers seat I can see it vibrate quite a bit, putting your hand on...
So looks like I was wrong. I did some more testing without my phone connected and I indeed have the limit icon on the left box in the dash. Seems the cameras are doing their thing...
Cool....
Strange, mine is a 2021 and I have just the opposite. Google Maps when running populates the left box. the right box never seems to read any sign... (or at least it hasn't yet....)
I changed the stuff from this post...
