I recently had a 'V" series ARE topper installed on my truck. It had similar quality/alignment issues. The Cap rear should align with the rear of the truck and the front lands up where the front lands up. Mine is about <~3/8" from the front. The passenger side window's lock bar pop rivet was not...
The ARE āVā series came in and was installed on Tuesday. That was between 5-6 weeks since it was ordered. Nice to have a cap on the truck to store more sh_t.
Iād assume theyāre all made in China.
I just remembered that I got mine from Amazon. It was a while ago. The extender was cheaper and had two vertical channels at each end of the T bar. Also has an additional section. The Amazon assembly is better for stacked stuff or in my case: kayaks. The...
Iām planning to use Mobil 1 Annual fully synthetic oil with a Wix XP or NAPA XP oil filter. Any thoughts?
Since the second oil change I switched to Amsoil Signature Series oil and still use a NAPA oil filter.
Iāve been salt and fresh water kayak fishing for about 5 years and have (3) Hobie kayaks. (Expensive, but well worth it.) I sold my 2015 Subaru Outback for my Scab with topper. In the past I had a Rhino Rack T-bar that helped load and support one of my kayaks on the Outback roof. Loading the...
They're not Fog or Driving Lights. They're Pothole Finding Lights. Fog lights should be amber-to help cut through the white fog color. White light just exaggerates its color. Ditto snow
I assume you're referring to the damper. YouTube has some install videos. Quite simple to do. I cleaned and sprayed the exposed surfaces of my bracket plates (masked the balls with masking tape) using black Rustoleum. Wanted to match the trucks color. Maybe tilt the bracket on the truck body...
No more pressing that auto S/S button: I use a $1.88 LED night light in the AC outlet. The damper is nice to have when your arms are full of stuff. What bargains.
BTW, I have a Supercab. I'd like to have the crew, but the kayak lengths won out.
Dealer=MO money. As for the rack: Amazon is usually cheaper. Think of the options, both now and the future, then get a name brand that has them. I like the Aero wing type because it gives more horizontal surface to...
I ordered a ARE 'V' series with front fold down sliding window (makes it a lot easier to clean between the cab and cap) and side sliders. This will be my third ARE Cap. Their quality is good and the price is right.
Nice to see pictures of the 'V' series cap on the same style/color truck I have. The only option I ordered is the front drop down slider. Expected delivery ~6 weeks. I was going to buy the 'Z2' series cap, but after looking at yours forget spending ~$1000 more.
