It seems to me that most of the comparisons on that thread are 2.7 in the F150 vs the 2.3 in the current gen Ranger though it's hard to say because there is some Bronco stuff in there also. Worth noting in that comparison is that given the volume the F150 sells I suspect Ford does a ton to...
It seems to me there are two approaches to a hybrid power train. First you can use it to boost an otherwise anemic ICE engine in such a way that acceleration is tolerable or even good, an examples of this is the Maverick and there's absolutely nothing wrong with this approach. The other is to...
Rather than getting multiple hitches you might consider an adjustable height hitch. These are convenient if you tow multiple trailers as well, using a buddies utility trailer for the weekend, just adjust your hitch and go.
If your only choices are fixed drop I'd get the one with the bigger drop...
I don't know what to say about this list. One of the things I liked when looking at the Ranger vs other mid-size pickups was the consistency of it. If you have the appropriate hitch all Rangers at all trim levels can tow 7500 lbs. Which can not be said for most trucks. I don't feel like getting...
This is so true. Especially for the MPG estimation. Put another way if it were just that easy to get right I bet Ford would have done that from the factory. Here's a pretty interesting wiki page that explains how this works in another app but I'd bet it's similar to the OBD link app...
Could you elaborate on how this is wired up? I have a truck topper which makes the normal mirror pretty useless so I would love to get something like this.
Where are you finding the 3 and 5/6 prong connectors? At one point I found the factory service guide on the forums but there were some links in it to the wiring diagram and troubleshooting procedures that didn't work.
This is so true, the LED headlights were a deciding factor in getting the Lariat. If I have to go out on the open market and figure this out for myself anyway and loose money doing it why get the Lariat? I understand where the OP is coming from here but I think Ford really messed up on this.
This! There are lots of cases where being able to lock that second wheel is enough and this saves the weight and complexity of having a full 4wd system. If you don't want or care about 4lo having an elocker will give you just as many locked wheels as 4hi for a lot lower cost.
In May 2021 when we bought our Ranger there were 2 Rousch Rangers on the lot. My impression at the time was that they were extremely over priced for what you got. Having said that $46K (CAD) is really not a terrible price for a new Ranger right now.
I have it enabled for the Ranger as well as our other vehicle. There are two reasons I can see having it.
- Using the vehicle hotspot instead of a phone hotspot. This is nice since many plans penalize hotspot data and it will also work the phone pretty hard. For use enabling kids tablets is a...
In the before time I would've been right there with the hatred for leather seats vs. cloth. The kiddo has changed that like a lot of things. The ease of just wiping something up off the leather is so nice compared to having stuff ground into the cloth.
