I’m fully aware that CAFE standards etc are behind the latest trends such as turbos and 10 speeds. It’s the reason why we have a plethora of CVT failures in Nissans. Even Toyota had CVT issues. I’m not arguing cost isn’t a factor either but it still boils down to poor design and consumers...
After the Focus / Fiesta DCT trans debacle, I really hoped Ford would do better. Their autos were typically reliable. Now they’re they’re the Chrysler of the 90s. Even Stellantis has enough sense to source a good transmission, meanwhile Ford continues to run their customers into the ground with...
No experience with AT2s. Had C Load AT3s in my 3rd Gen 4Runner and loved them. They replaced E Load KO2s. Great tires IMO. I’m torn between those, Wildpeaks or just another set of Grabbers for my Ranger when it’s time
Since Toyota waits 10-20 years to update their stuff (?) they probably built 300k trans up until very recently. I’m curious to see how the new 8 speeds they’re using do. There’s also some issues with the 8F35 trans in Fords. Its torque rating is less than the 2.0 Ecoboost that it’s typically...
I plan on keeping my miles to a max of 60k when I’m getting rid of the Ranger.
-Over the years I’ve owned 14 Fords counting my Tremor Ranger.
-2 Toyotas
-1 Chevrolet
It will be the last Ford for me with an automatic trans. If Toyota (Asin) could build a trans in the 90s that is still going...
Maybe the OP is like me. Simple nut and bolt assemblies are familiar. Main bolts… rod bolts… rings… ring compressors…. bore honing…. torque specs etc are familiar. I hate the myriad of electrical connectors and the fear of breaking one. Smarter to ask peers or watch a video than to break something.
I’m not terribly familiar with what all is on the market lately but from what little I know I’d go for a 3MOA Burris Fastfire 3. More research may turn up something better and hopefully someone else has some good advice
1) Visor “molle panel”. Hoping I can toss a flashlight and HAM HT and GMRS HT on it… and a knife
2) The rarely mention gift to truckdom! Now to find out out where I pay my union dues…..
I want in on the zombie game! ?. This sounds like something I would do ?. I never got in the habit of remote starting using the app or I probably would have.
Over the years most people I’ve known who get used to driving a manual, go for the phantom clutch when stopping if they are driving an...
lol! You’re welcome! The disclaimer was the icing on the cake ?
It really is an awesome feat of engineering tho. I’m made two short drives in the Ranger today and used the dock both times. Easy place to store the phone and no wires hanging.
Great job on the video ! If you’re not in marketing you could make a go at it lol. If I had made a video folks woulda thought I said the apocalypse is crawling up their ass and been offing themselves left and right! ?
