This doesn't have anything to do with the Ranger itself, but I finally got to tow something with it. I borrowed a trailer from a friend for the job and was scooting on down the interstate and then this happened. The Ranger's lug wrench didn't fit those lugs... It was a hell of a first voyage.
I get text alerts with mine. I don't recall any particular setup. I just plugged the iPhone into the front USB port. The Ranger saw it and had to index it (presumably for the music, app, and other meta data) and it just worked from there.
You won't get on screen graphics like maps or album art. If I understand it correctly, app link let's an app understand the standardized voice commands built into the radio (rather than engaging Siri to interact with the app).
If you want CarPlay you'll need a separate radio. I'm not sure if...
Based on my experience, it seems that 89 is the best value. Around here, 89 generally costs 30 cents more than 87 and 93 costs 40 cents more than 89.
87: 2.43 x 18 = 43.74 Dollars @ 20.5 MPG
89: 2.73 x 18 = 49.14 Dollars @ 23.5 MPG
93: 3.13 x 18 = 56.34 Dollars @ 26 MPG
87: 20.5 x 18 = 369 MPT...
The estimate on my gauge is routinely between .7 and 1.2 MPG higher than what I'm actually getting (20-21 typically). I just put a K&N in it two days ago and so far the estimated mileage has gone up another 1 MPG. It will be interesting to see what the real number is.
The red and blue colors were the only ones I liked for 2019 (still haven't seen Saber in person) and red wasn't available on my trim so I went with blue. If it had been available, I'm not sure which I'd have gone with.
Colorado is the only truck that looks better than the Ranger, but Ranger is better than it in virtually every way (at least on paper). People that owned the first generations of Rangers are very, very loyal in my experience (I am one of them). Virtually every conversation I have with someone...
All else being equal, I don't see the point in paying extra for carpet only to pay even more to put vinyl mats on top of it when you can just get vinyl flooring for less to begin with. Personally, I don't understand all of these luxury features in a truck; it's a truck. Clearly there's a demand...
I picked up a screw in the rear passenger tire. I took it to a shop to get patched and one of the guys there was real curious and complimentary about the truck.
Most folks that buy trucks in America don't even use the bed, much less four wheel drive. That said, it's like a gun; I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. I live in the South where it rains a lot and our dirt is mostly red clay. Wet red clay is slippery as shit. Four...
