Got the Bilstein 5100 shocks installed and took the Ranger out for a cruise over different types of road. Freeway and narrow residential and through some not so good secondary roads. This truck rides and drives totally differently. The Ranger wallow as I call it is gone and on the freeway it...
I'm going to talk to another dealer here close to me but I think this issue would be in the extended warranty I purchase for when the manufacturers warranty runs out.
Found out from my dealer that if I install the Eibach leveling kit it will void my warranty. Pisses me off but I talked at length to the service department and the guy in the parts department and I guess I can understand, (Not really) this would mostly pertain to the lifetime warranty I...
Did the magnet test and as I thought the front fenders are definitely not metal, neither aluminum or steel. I worked in the metal trades as a tool and die maker all my life and I can pretty much tell if something is metal or plastic. Those fenders are plastic. Might be a good question for Phil.
What material are the front fenders made from? Doesn't seem to be aluminum or steel. Feel like some kind of plastic similar to what the front fascia is made from. The doors sound like metal when you tap on them with a knuckle. Hood is supposed to be aluminum correct?
I noticed a spot on my driveway a while back and thought at first it might be from the old truck or car I used to have since it didn't look new. Today out of curiosity I looked under the right rear side of the Ranger and lo and Behold I have a shock leaking. I've been driving since 1971 and...
On start up first thing after sitting all night my A/C smells like silicone caulking for a minute or less. Just started this since the weather here in the PNW got warm. My truck has a shade over 5000 miles on it. Not really all that bad but a bit annoying.
What I want to know and haven't been able to find out, even the service manager at my local dealer was non commital. Will these affect your warranty in any way? My Ranger is just over a year old and has less then 6000 miles on it. Don't want to mess up my warranty if anything comes up.
The metal is very thin so indents are to add rigidity to the panel. The same reason you see ribs on the roof of a van and why the body panels are not flat but curved and usually have a ridge on them.
