Been doing this for a long time too, its cheap insurance on something that at hi-risk because its always touching the road...
Mine cost $39 each and at that time they said the base cost of my tires were $245 each plus the 'extras'..

Phil I wondered what you did with your free time...figured writing poetry for your wife, long walks on the beach and pondering the meaning of life! :)
NOW we know...engineering a better way to open a beer bottle, that is for those of us who dont drink brands with twist-off caps...
I get what you are saying but from my time in both the military and civilian life id have to say there are both bad leaders and bad followers that sadly are unreachable by the best of leaders.
The problem is regardless if you go back to the stealership dis-service center or a private service provider there are a dwindling number of folks who are in fact DETAIL driven who give a flying F*** any more. We had beat this issue to death in other threads and the bottom line is the same...
I avoid Fram and Purolator filters like the plague! JMO.
Wix, Hastings, Bosch and surprisingly Motorcraft filters score really high and are pretty damn solid to work with..not as flimsy as others on the market. NAPA filters last time I checked were Wix rebranded...
Did the tailgate dampener warning light go on as well?....
But seriously, that sucks! ...for those of you that know me I rant a bit on Wednesday's b/c I head to the bar and drink a bunch!

WELL despite you being in the 'pro' dampener camp I will still give my priceless advise, worth about 1.5 million Bitcoin..
1. Take it to a muffler shop that does custom work, by me it's in the Spanish/Mexican side of town where guys still like to do mods & customs at reasonable prices and ask...
NOW YOU NEED TO DECIDE...
TO DAMPENER OR NOT TO DAMPENER [The Tail Gate]
Regardless of what you choose...50% of ranger5G forum members will LOVE you and the others 50% will vex you with a VD curse...
I'm originally a MOPAR guy since well when Reagan was president..
I still have my 2009 RAM 1500 4x4 crew cab 5.7L in bright silver, it had 157,000 on it and aside from IL winter/salt rust at the bottom it runs like a champ. My 17 year old son drives it now and its funny because when I bought it...
