I used 5/40 Castrol Euro and I find the same thing, seems to help. I also added Hot Shots friction reducer with it. I can at least control it now. Have been able to keep it to the top hole or below for 2700 miles now!!
If the Mustangs are not having this trouble why are we? Fuel in oil is not normal at these levels some of us are experiencing, this condition has to be harmful to the engine. It has not been proven at what point yet but it can't be good in the long range outlook! This should be corrected and not...
If there's no problem with the other applications of this engine ( Mustang and others) why is it so hard for Ford to figure out the problem with the Ranger 2.3 . What ever they changed for the Ranger application would be a good place to start!!!
Let it sit overnight and go by that level. I find that is the most accurate way to check it. Not what they tell you but that is the best way to check it!
Damn you got me thinking about the sooty tailpipe. My tailpipe was really heavily covered with soot. I installed a AEM DRYFLOW FILTER, the trype that does not get oiled. I also went to 5/40 synthetic on account of fuel dilution. My tailpipe is no were near as sooty now, maybe more airflow helped...
Different story when you don't do long trips, mine to bring it down a significant amount I have to do at least a couple hundred mile trip. The problem with that is in these times I don't do many two hundred mile trips or more, that's were the real problem arises. And for some the long trips...
I used 5_40 on the last oil change, I now have 2300 miles on it. Seem to be making out better with fuel dilution, don't know if is is just a coincidence . I have had the level go up to the twist in the past, since switching my highest level has been the top hole. And driving on a longer trip...
Ford is getting a real bad reputation not taking care of these problems. This is my first Ford since 93, and if they continue down this road of disrespecting their customers it will be my last Ford product! Maybe they don't care, but someday they will and it might be too late!
You spend 30 to 40 thousand and have to come up with a fix on your own. Something is wrong with that picture. If that's what buying a new vehicle has come to better off fixing up an old one! NEW TECHNOLOGY I GUESS!!!
Please let us know what the outcome of your (10th) visit is, and if their finally going to actually try and do something to find and fix the problem! Good Luck!!
The dealers are doing the same thing to everybody having this problem. They do their checks and then they tell you they can't find anything wrong. How long can this denial go on, their definitely is a problem. Is anybody going to step forward and help the consumer out here or are we going to...
Took her out hammered down on her road was still wet after the snow and salted road. She broke traction at 65 MPH , Straighten out and hauled ass!! NICE!!
