Loving all of the detail work you're putting into this truck! With Sync 3.4, is it just Google Maps or any navigation app working in the productivity screen? Just curious, I use Waze more often than Google Maps.
Partial install, I'll update this post when they're finished, but here are my Baja Designs Squadron Sports. I didn't order one of the Ranger-specific driving light kits, if you buy them in pairs they cost the same and you get the same stuff, but I ordered mine with separate "Wide Cornering" and...
People keep stepping on my damn sill plates. Solution? Bushwacker Trail Armor Rocker Panels.
Install was just peel and stick. I put mine on on a 38-degree day, so adhesion wasn't ideal, but they're on there well enough. Instructions have you put the front ones on first, but I found it easier...
I have PIAA Si-Tech wipers on my Fiesta ST and plan on putting a set on the Ranger in the spring. Smooth, quiet, and helps maintain a Rain-X coating in the wiped area where it usually wears off.
Pulled a Ditch Witch SK-1050 home from work to fix my dirt road. I'm very impressed with how this truck tows, the ol' butt dyno estimated the trailer weight around 3,750lbs, actual weight was 6,580!
Also had to pull the trailer through 8 inches of muddy topsoil to get the trailer out of the...
I see it more as a consistent ride thing, a level truck that doesn't bounce, no headlight adjustments, I'd put bags on anything I towed a moderate weight with regularly.
Ahh yes, that's the look. 285/70R17 Goodyear Duratrac Tires (load range D)
Aesthetically speaking, this completes the truck. Functional things like driving lights and a higher quality suspension are in the plan, but the mods will be less visible from here on in.
No rubbing on the high...
Part 2 of the radio install, remote faceplate, Lightforce switch fascia, and Magnetic Mic
The trick to getting the rear (furthest from windshield) of the dash tray to sit flush again is to take a flat plastic trim tool (NOT a screwdriver or anything metal) and wedge it in the seam between the...
+1 for the RokBlokz XL mud flaps. 2.25" leveling kit and 1.5" wheel spacers with stock wheels and tires, the shoulder tread of the tires are about 3/8" inside the mud flaps protection area. Will be very close when I mount my 285/70R17 Duratracs.
The 2/70 is a big whip to run up there every day, something with a spring base would be just as effective at damage mitigation as a magnet mount without the need to reset. We run spring loaded Laird antennas on the cabs of our dump trucks, which see some serious abuse in the woods, and they're...
I went full commitment and did a permanent mount. I drilled directly over the second row dome light, so I can access the mount without disturbing the headliner. Going to remote mount the radio behind the rear seat, with the faceplate in the tray on the dash. Also installing a Lightforce fascia...
Starting the radio install with the scary stuff! Drilled out the roof to install the permanent antenna mount.
Installation is as easy as it gets. I removed the second row dome light to confirm there were no roof supports above it to work around, and used a magnetic mount antenna to match up...
