Hi, I work at the company that makes the mirrors for the ranger. I had little to do with the development of the mirror, but I have reviewed the design/specs. As much as i'd like to say "Dont put trailer-tow mirrors onto these mirrors" I know it's a necessity for many people due to the lack of...
It all depends on your dealer and how much staff/how busy they are. The dealer I bought my Ranger from has express service lanes and can do an oil change or tire rotation in around 40 minutes.
thanks for the info! Until now my daily drivers have always had engines without Turbos so i always chalked it up to me driving it "Wrong" I'll have to look into that progressive valve!
Yeah, we design those mirrors very specifically to hold their own weight, and not much else. The actuator isnt exactly recommended for a mirror with the weight of the ranger's, let alone the additional extended mirrors. While the actuator may be a bit light for the ranger mirror, the mirror is...
Sounds like a common thing i've encountered with several fords that have ecoboost engines. for me it was typically an exact case of Accelerate, brake, accelerate nothing, Surge of power. Noticed this mostly when i'd go to make a left turn, tap the pedal, change my mind and brake, then go for the...
Ughhh, i can hear that powerfold actuator crying from the extra weight... The Ranger's mirror is already pushing the rated weight for that actuator. I suggest you avoid folding the mirrors with those on. I may be looking at the specs for both the mirror and actuator right now...

I would also love some more storage space since i like to keep a lot of junk in my truck. Currently i've got An E-Tool, a roll of ducktape, 4x 500lb ratchet straps, 2x1000lb ratchet straps, 200 feet of 550 paracord, and a tarp under my back seat. I also crammed my ice-scraper and a coat between...
MMMM, during summer i always love pulling test samples out of our -40 test chambers at the auto supplier i work it. Much better than pulling samples out of the 85C 85% RH chambers that try to steam-clean your face...
My previous car -- a 2019 Fusion SE -- had adaptive cruise control which when the car in front of you gradually stopped, it would also stop, then slowly crawl up to a reasonable space behind it. When the car moved it'd either make you tap the gas pedal to set the CC on again, or crawl forward...
Hello all, I'm thinking about trying to make a bustle rack style storage rack in the bed of my ranger. Thoughts are to place it similar to where the swing out tool box would go, and size it large enough to fit bits like a jug of washer fluid, cargo net, etc.. Benefits of a rack instead of a box...
A2Mac1.com, It's a benchmarking site that does full teardowns on vehicles. The company i work for finds the subscription to be beneficial to our engineering department, so i have an account through that.
As a good comparison, here is the alternator location on the US Ranger with the 2.3l
And here is the engine from the Wildtrack with the I5 diesel engine. Alternator is much higher in placement.
Also a disclaimer before i post more, i dont particularly know a lot of practical knowledge about...
