  1. Soft Brakes Anyone?

The brake feel is "Relative". I find it to be less than ideal, as I am comparing it to a harder pedal with less travel such as on my wife's Grand Cherokee. Others comparing it to maybe an F150 would possibly find it feels normal. That being said, as time goes on and mostly driving the Ranger...
  2. No more front license plate required (as of 7/1/20) for my Ford Ranger in Ohio - I replaced it with this.

Very simple removal. Two screws, and two tabs that pop off the back edge of the bumper.
  3. Front Half Shafts

With parts like these half shafts and heavy duty cast iron a-arms, etc., even when I am not an off-roader, I might be driving a ZR-2. Their Bandaid actions on their 8-Speed transmission for 5-6 years turned me off! I cannot tell you how much I Love my new Ranger and do not regret my purchase At...
  4. Soft Brakes Anyone?

The only downside I have found so far with the PB brake upgrade is that my Sport Package came with a 16" spare, so I already upgraded it with an FX-4 17" wheel and Non-temporary tire.
  5. Soft Brakes Anyone?

As far as the question of big brake options, you could check out RCMustang's build thread. There, he chronicles his experience with PB Brakes. They originally only had adapter brackets for The Euro Rangers. He helped develop adapters for our USA version. I am considering this as an option at...
  6. Hood deflector

I put the Textured Black AVS II on my Magnetic Ranger and I am liking it very much. The textured finish pretty much matches the splash guards and bed rails finish and I prefer a solid mounting vs. the type that secures to the underside of the hood and vibrates while driving. It is secured with...
  7. Massachusetts 4 - 255/65R17 Bridgestone Dueler AT and 16" Spare Tire

Price reduced to $200 for the set, as I need the room in my garage. I marked these as sold because I was thinking about running them through the winter on spare wheels, but I decided to buy winter tires instead.
  8. What oil will you be running after your 1st oil change?

The comparison factor listing for comparing the wear protection is rated as P.S.I., and according to his rating comparison listing below the Mobil 1 Annual Protection at 82.486 is not as bad as I was representing it (my apologies), but why would someone want to pay a premium price for an...
  9. What oil will you be running after your 1st oil change?

Mobil 1 Annual Protection is a marketing ploy to charge a higher price for inferior oil. In the oil wear protection testing referenced in the link that was posted earlier in this thread the Annual Protection ranks 140 out of 239 oils tested.
  10. Rustproofing?

We are not talking about “undercoating”, the rubberized kind that cracks and fills up with water and rusts underneath it! The Krown treatment is a type of oil mist/spray that creeps into crevices, etc. and keeps the water out.
  11. What oil will you be running after your 1st oil change?

Amsoil guy, Regarding the SN Plus rating, in addition to this turbo rating: "The API SN Plus apex is recommended by the manufacturers to help protect the turbo chargers from the Low Speed Pre Ignition" It is my understanding that this rating is also a benefit for Direct Injection in that there...
  12. Which 1" Wheel Spacer Do You Recommend?

quangdog, One important item that Bluebeaststr mentioned and is worth repeating, is to make certain that whichever spacers you decide on are machined to be Hub Centric!
  13. Which 1" Wheel Spacer Do You Recommend?

No offence taken, Bluebeastsrt. With all the talk about wheel spacers, I thought it best to bring up the possibility of an issue, even if that possibility is remote. I appreciate both yours and Phil's comments on the subject. I do however apologize for hijacking the OP's posting though!
  14. Which 1" Wheel Spacer Do You Recommend?

Bluebeastsrt, It is very good to know that you have had such positive longevity experience using wheel spacers. My experience could well have been that the design was already maxed out for the bearings specified and the wheel/tire combo was heavier than the originals. I simply wanted to bring...
  15. Which 1" Wheel Spacer Do You Recommend?

Quote from Frenchy: "I should also add that I do not recommend using wheel spacers either. It will set the tire off enough to cause premature hub failure." I have to say that I am very surprised that this has not been mentioned before (as far as I am aware). Any time the load on the wheel...
  16. Problems with Stage 3 Motor Sports

Hello Jason, your responses to stealth purchasing were extremely entertaining!! ? But, I for one find "Honesty is the Best Policy"
  17. Raptor Wheels on Magnetic Ranger

Thank you, steveK I am loving the helpful nature of the members of this forum!!
  18. Raptor Wheels on Magnetic Ranger

I very much appreciate all the responses and will be ordering a set of these for my 4x4 Suoercrew. One last question though, do the the lug nuts from the aluminum Sport Package wheels fit the Ranger Raptor wheels? The Raptor wheels are listed as 60 degree conical, but I have not found the spec...
  19. Raptor Wheels on Magnetic Ranger

Is there anyone running the Ranger Raptor wheels with FX-4 size (265/65x17) tires without a spacer? I would just like to know how much space there is between the tire and aluminum knuckle.
  20. No more front license plate required (as of 7/1/20) for my Ford Ranger in Ohio - I replaced it with this.

Very simple removal. Two screws, and two tabs that pop off the back edge of the bumper.
