Disable lane keeping by pushing the button on the end of the turn signal stalk.
  2. Am I being stupid?

Ah rookies, I can remember visiting my sales rep office in Baltimore. I flew in from California. I had the most modern flip cellphone which would store 10 of your favorite phone numbers… ? I show up at their office right before they open up. So I thought I would call my wife back in California...
  3. Towing U-Haul with 23’ Ranger Tremor

Use trailer mode if equipped and make wide turns meaning give the trailer wheels clearance on the inside of your turns so you don’t run over curbs or clip a car. You should be fine.

  8. Trailer Pulling

It’s interesting I ran across this thread today. I will be renting a U-Haul vehicle trailer to tow a 65 Mustang only about 60 miles. I called them about the trailer breaks they use. They use surge brakes and only a 4 pin harness. No 7 pin. I figure I’ll be around 5200 pounds meaning surge brakes...

A wise Ford engineer, Phil that used be on here but hasn’t been seen due health issues. suggested to get a cheap stethoscope and remove the diaphragm to use as a diagnostic and directional listening device.
  10. Throttle Body went out at 45K

Unless it’s a mechanical breakage or binding then it’s the throttle body position sensor (TPS). The binding might be fixed by cleaning and lube. Mechanical breakage then wholesale replacement. TPS should be replaceable, unsure if it is.
  11. power window

Hey from one old guy to another that’s easily done albeit very time consuming. Convert the .pdf to a Word document and then do a search for each character individually. Copy the search results and paste into an Excel spreadsheet. Then autosum each column. I’m retired and have no use for...
  12. Clearview Towing Mirrors

Mine are still in the box. Can explain the blind spot? Is it forward looking or rear view on the new mirror?
  13. Out with the old, in with new.

32-34 psi, Nitto is a low cost Toyo that wear quicker from my experience. They tend to not keep balanced well. Good tires but not great. They look good and should serve you well.
  14. 2021 Ford Ranger XLT Hood Gaps

Open the hood and above the headlights you’ll see a black rubber hex pad. Turn to adjust. Go with the low side first.
  15. Tire Chains/Cables

Z chains by SCC. They will probably lift restrictions around noon but still need to carry chains. If you’re heading up the backside via highway 38 then Green Spot (great jerky there too) sells chains. Chain installers charge 150 bucks to install YOUR chains.. make sure you know how to install. I...
  16. 2021 Ford Ranger XLT Hood Gaps

Raise the right side hood striker pad a bit at a time 1/4 turn. It’s in the front corner not on the hood. Turn it CCW, it may be stiff to turn.
  17. 2021 Ford Ranger XLT Hood Gaps

Yes there’s the pads up front on each side where the hood rests. They adjust up and down by turning them. They might be stiff but they turn. Mine was like that too.
  18. Help please for a non tire guy buying his first tires after OEM

I’ve had a lot of different brands over the years. BFG KO’s are a good tire but heavy and ride like iron. Michelins are a great high mileage tire but the last 1/3 of their lifetime they lose traction. Never tried Falkens. Nitto tires are the redhead bastard stepchild of Toyo, they’re great the...
  19. To tune or not to tune

I’m just an old guy that’s tuned his vehicles in the past. I love doing it but this little 2.3 motor is awesome already. So I don’t see the “need “. In the past yeah but stock fits me well. HP equation = high performance equals high prices.. just my experience. Have fun you all and best of luck!!
  20. Help please for a non tire guy buying his first tires after OEM

I just bought Toyo AT-3 to replace my hankook on my FX4. Great tires but I’ve always been partial for Toyo. I didn’t get the LT version because of weight. I have the same tire size as you. They are surprisingly quiet.
