Rigged 'behind-the-back-seat' straps for kayak paddle storage. The paddles are hidden until I'm ready to pull them out and I don't have to worry about something falling on them in transit.
Until I retired, sold my shop, and then moved into a motorhome, I built tables and turned bowls. My most rewarding work was turning urns for customer's pets. Here's some of the stuff I did.
Hmmm. I wonder if there is a mechanical solution here. Assuming that garage door height is the only physical issue, could an air bag suspension help? What if one could push a button and lower the pickup's height by a couple of inches? I'm not at all familiar with the lift suspension...
A couple of quick quetions, if I may. If you know, how much did that bike weigh? What was that drive like? I've been considering a similar receiver bike ramp/mount for my 400lb Honda Rebel. Any feedback on your experience would be helpful.
I've never lowered my spare tire and was curious how the process worked. I also thought it was time to see what the pressure was in the spare. I was surprised to see that it was only at 20 psi. So, regular checking of spare air is now on the schedule.
I'm guessing that Ford wants that valve...
I will, yes. Those kayaks only weigh about 50 lbs each. So while it looks like I'm hauling a whale in the bed, the impact to the motorhome and its tow rating should be nil.
Thanks, Duke. Much appreciated.
This project took me forever. I think I started trying to figure out this rack idea back in January. Below is one of my working drawings. LOL.
Our winter plan is to paddle scenic places on the Gulf Coast. We will take our time, exploring interesting spots all the way from Key West, FL to Padre Island, TX. This will be our first such trip with these kayaks and with the Ranger. We did our test load out today. We got her up to 70 on...
Interesting. I hadn't heard about this. But, I just did a transmission service way ahead of the maintenance schedule. I suspect that flat towing is unusually hard on those systems and we do it a lot. So, I plan to schedule a trans service annually instead of at 150K as recommended.
I suspect that this is a retirement RV thing. This guy tows this pickup behind a motorhome. He probably has several toys with him and they may all be painted alike. His doghouse probably has flames too. I've seen some crazy rigs and collections out on the road. It takes all kinds.
