I appreciate it. And it is just a matter of time before ReadyLift or someone else puts out some quality A-arms to accommodate the 2” ReadyLift leveling kit I intend to install. In the meantime I think my ball joints won’t see that much abuse. And luckily the cv shafts aren’t full-time (only...
So just for my own amusement I measured from the center of the hub cap to the top of the fender with the weight of the vehicle loaded on the front suspension, then I jacked up the front end and re-measured.
It’s 2.75 inches difference.
The stock FX4 is sufficient for my needs, which will be 96% highway, 3% dirt roads, and 1% graded trails for camping/fishing. I just don’t want to make it terribly uncomfortable during that 1% when more down travel would keep the vehicle from rocking side-to-side like a teeter-totter when...
Yes, I’m completely torn. I like the idea of having a spacer split between the top and bottom (The ReadyLift 2” kit), but I also really like the idea of replacing those crash bars. Plus it’s available right now, although ReadyLift’s should be available any day now.
On a 2 1/4” PoComp lift I...
Has anyone seen any programmer tools being offered to correct the speedo/odometer?
I know there are several aftermarket tuners for the F-150 like Rough Country and Hypertech, that offer a $200 tuner that can make the correction for new tire sizes.
Pics please, I’m next! Same exact model and size of tires, but patiently waiting for the ReadyLift kit to drop so I can order the tires at the same time!
Quite a bit of rake. Supposedly the front-end is 3” lower. The 2.5” kit from RC gets you most of the way there. The leveling kits only lift the front to bring you level (or closer to level). ReadyLift has a few kits supposedly dropping onto their website within the next 24hrs. One is a 2” front...
Thank you, and no I haven’t considered air springs in the back yet. I’ll have to take a look at them if I find that the rear end is sagging a bit too often for me.
I made a call to tech support at ReadyLift and learned some things about the kits and the truck itself. First the cv joint issue is...
I’ll definitely be one of their first customers. Just need to figure out whether I’m going with the 2” (almost) leveling kit or the 3” front & 1” rear SST kit. I like the idea of keeping one inch of rake because I do haul often and will tow occasionally. I’m keeping my stock wheels with the 55mm...
I was sold on this cover until I heard about the leaks near the tailgate and around the edges after the rubber gets older. But most of all what changed my mind was a video of someone trying to roll it up with freezing temps, Spoiler Alert, it doesn’t want to roll.
These guys have ridiculously good quality in their kits. For a modest 3” lift, it should basically be a leveling kit (top of the strut spacer) in the front and a + one inch block for the leaf spring pack in the back. If you check out their site they do a great job of including everything you...
Ok, cool. I found RC’s instruction pdf file on the product webpage. I will of course get a full laser alignment, I just didn’t know if they told you how much adjustment was needed. I’ve done a larger lift install in the past, and I actually did a manual alignment (the old fashioned way), making...
Did you have to perform any front suspension adjustments/alignments after installing the RC leveling kit? I have it on order myself, just trying to get an idea of how much time I need for the install.
Just ordered my RC leveling kit. Going with the Falken WildPeak A/T 3W, size 275/65-18, on my stock 18” wheels. The tires review extremely well and will give it a more aggressive look while balancing between highway use and the snow traction I need here in Colorado.
Here’s a pic of slightly...
Good to hear about the spare tire.
We’re there any alignment or other suspension adjustments done after the install? Any comments from the technician that did the install?
