BDS offers a 2” leveling kit that combines a narrow top spacer and preload spacer on each front strut tower. The basic package includes two BDS gas struts for the rear that promises to improve the handling of the rear suspension with an option to upgrade to Fox 2.0 struts (in place of the BDS...
ProComp offers a 2.25” front-end leveling kit that also provides modified crashbars for additional tire clearance (crashbar replacement appears to be labor intensive).
ReadyLift offers 3 different kits.
1) 2-inch leveling kit that leaves a slight (1inch front-end-low) rake.
2) 3-inch leveling kit (true level, no take).
3) 3-inch SST kit. Which is the 3” leveling kit for the front-end plus a 1” lift in the rear. (Leaves some rake, the front-end is one is lower).
I’m going to give this kit a shot. It will allow for the Falken WildPeak A/T3 275/65-18s I plan on wrapping over the stock wheels. Later on, when they have 3+ inch kits that include a drop for the front differential, new upper A-arms, new coil-overs in the front, plus matching gas struts in the...
I’m in the same boat, I check at least every other day. I’ve never had one before but knowing what I do, they’re the outright winner in terms of functionality, being weatherproof, and security from theft. I’m waiting patiently, in the meantime the bed of my truck is filling with snow!!
Correct. If you oil them as instructed, the residual oil when collect on the Mass Airflow sensor. Then they throw a check engine light because the O2 sensors detect an incorrect mixture caused by MAF sensor showing less air than is actually flowing through the intake.
If you use K&N, you need...
I got 24.8 MPG driving between 70-75mph going up in elevation (3300ft - 6800ft MSL) during my 3hr drive home from the dealership. That includes a couple 100mph passes around traffic on a 2-lane highway!
Give it time.
I wish they gave an option to upgrade the front springs/struts with a matching FOX or BDS set instead of using a preload spacer. I do like the idea of upgrading the rear shocks at the same time. Close call between BDS and ReadyLift. ReadyLift is a spacer kit split between the top and bottom. BDS...
I really enjoy the TFL guys, their reviews provide a good blend of technical and subjective information.
I wonder if that N-gauge will also be able to accommodate a tire size calibration now or in the future.
Hmm. I typically just use the MagicShades that fold easily into smaller circles. I find them to be less of a ClusterF than the typical shade. How well do those fold and store in your truck?
BTW, nice wrap! Big fan of the color you chose.
Chicco NextFit Zip rear-facing. Should be much more roomy when I get to flip it forward in 6 months but for now the front passenger has plenty of room.
I have a Nuna Pipa infant car seat as well, we’ll see how it fits if kiddo #2 comes into existence.
This guy points out the Check Engine Light issue at the end of this video. He says that you can run a “vehicle relearn” and eliminate the code populated because of the speedo calibration.
Thanks for the pics. It still appears to have enough articulation to meet my needs and you seem to have cleared up any mystery regarding the front hubs as well. Those cv shafts definitely spin full-time.
Yup! My tires were between 40-42psi, so while the dealer brought them down from 48psi off the transport it still wasn’t low enough. I noticed so about 45 minutes into my 3.5 hr drive home from taking delivery of the truck, I stopped and brought the tires down to 34psi. Voila! Night and Day...
I got 24.8mpg on a 3 hour trip coming back from taking delivery of the truck. And that was while gaining 3,500ft of elevation and couple 95mph runs while passing traffic on the 2-lane Highway. I did get home and realize the tire pressures were around 40psi. So I haven’t done much highway driving...
Really? I haven’t verified that. I guess I could go take a peek at the front hubs. I had a conversation with one of the tech guys at ReadyLift about this. Specifically comparing this to the Colorado which requires dropping the whole diff because of the poor angles on the CV Shafts versus the...
They’re a universal Ford accessory. I’ve installed those on an F-250. They’re actually more of a pain to install than the Robin Electronics set I posted from Amazon. I’m going to tap into the 12V port in the bed, hide/secure the wiring and I’ll be done with it. For the same (maybe better)...
Ordered these lights today after a long search. They are hardwired but have 60 minute time-out to prevent killing your battery. No separate on/off switch, you touch one of the lamps to turn the entire string on/off. Quality waterproof connectors. A little pricey at $75, but sure to last...
