Sorry for the late response. It won't be much help until the sun comes out in Oregon :p I have been using my Jackery battery to run the charger in the mean time.
The solar charger I bought does have a built-in AGM charge controller, but no desulfation feature. I have a NOCO Genius5 charger, but I don't want to run a power cord out to the street.

You lost me here. How did the battery short?
edit: I read up on it, has to do with the wrench hitting a body ground while removing the positive. By removing the negative first, the body is no longer a ground source for accidental contact.
My last oil change was done by myself for just under $40 with full synthetic. I installed a ValvoMax drain plug so I can skip removing the skid plate. Takes maybe 20 minutes total, with most of that time waiting for the oil to drain. What is getting difficult for me is doing the tire rotation...
