3 years/80,500 miles, day before a hurricane... It died. Lol.
Went to remote start it this morning and nothing happened. I knew what I was in for at that moment. Jumped it and drove it to my Dr appointment and in the office I sent a chat message to AAA. They came to me and replaced the battery...
Tomorrow early morning I'll be going on a 12hr round trip this weekend. I went outside to check my fluids, fully confident every thing is fine. Go to check my transmission fluid and it's between 3 and 4. I drained/refilled the fluid and replaced the filter in April. I checked it after I was done...
Well its not really an emergency buuut it does change things up. I had today planned to do an oil change. Seen the Napa deal on trans fluid last week and ordered 12 quarts. Came in yesterday PERFECT!! "I will add that to my Saturday maintenance day.
I'm up at 5am and get on the O'Reilly website...
I'm coming up here soon needing to replace my front and rear shocks. I have a 2wd, don't need/want a lift, and I'm on pavement 99.9% of the time. I know the 4wd/off road members here recommend eibach or bilsteins but that seems a little over kill for my use.
A pre-installed spring/shock combo...
I had the idea that I would try to send a borescope through the throttle body into the intake in hopes of catching a view of the intake valves. The TB looks to be sitting to low for that to work or maybe it will and I am just not seeing it. Has anyone tried this or have an idea of how it can be...
No pics.. Just wanted to say at 56k the diff fluid flowed out a clear gold color. The drain plug did have some fine metal shavings stuck to it but nothing out the ordinary. Didn't surprise methat it was still good, to be honest. I bet it could have made 100k easy.
These are my last two oil changes including the two before that I had previously posted. These two oil changes I used an Amsoil Filter where as the first two I used the WIX XP. All four used the same oil...Amsoil Signature Series 5w30. The base number is lower on these last two. I'm thinking...
Another 9900 oil change using Amsoil Signature Series 5w30 and a wix XP filter. Results are great and the pottasium that I was worried about has considerably went down. What I completely dismissed was thier range for water and coolant was zero...all that worrying for nothing. I'm going to assume...
So if you look in maintenance you will see I posted a copy of my oil analysis. Intially I was thinking it looked great but then realized my potassium is 22ppm. That could possibly mean a coolant leak/bad head gasket. The oil analysis company didn't say anything about it so maybe I'm over...
I walk into the bank, in there for 10mins and walk out to truck completely dead. Not even the key fob worked. I thought this was a bit odd to be a dead battery issue. I check the battery connections and it was tight. So I walked back in the bank to call AAA. As im on hold I decide to hit the key...
I changed out the factory fill at around 6k with Sig Series 5w30 and a Wix XP filter. I had plans on leaving it in for 10k, an emergency road trip came up, and so I decided it was better to get it done then. The amsoil stayed in till 9900 miles which was 0% on the oil life meter.

Looking at other pictures of Rangers with draw tite and other brands of tow hitches mine doesn't seem to be in the same position. It's sunk in under the bumper more then others. Is there room for adjustment or is this a non issue?
I have found a used set for a great price. Doing research on them it doesn't say if it will work on a 2wd. I know on the non ford tuned Fox 2.0 it lists 2.5 lift 2wd and 2inch lift 4wd.
Stage3 is the only site I've found that says it'll work on a 2wd..ford performance site says will work on 4wd.
