  1. Rolled the Ranger this morning…

96.7 CHYM as your #1 preset suggests it wasn't an accident and you probably liked it.
  2. The elusive cosmetic bumper plug for the spare tire winch

I never understood why the keyed cover was used. It 'locks' into relatively thin, soft plastic, that is easily defeated by any would be thief stealing your spare tire anyway. Barely even the illusion of security. Also, never heard of a spare tire being stolen. Seems like a solution to a...
  3. Snorkle

I also have the ARB Safari snorkel. Love it. Also like Glocker, I did the install myself. It's not an overly difficult install, cutting/drilling through body panels is probably the hardest part for most people.
  4. Average life of the stock battery?

I have a voltmeter on my Spod display, which shows 14.7 to 14.9 when parked, up to 15.1 when running. In late December I started getting the "Drive your vehicle to reconnect FordPass and exit battery saver mode" and would not allow any remote Fordpass actions to work It also disabled the...
  5. What winch are you using?

Minimum recommended is 1.5x the weight of the truck, but I've always run 2x. On the Ranger, I'm running a Warn VR Evo Synthetic 12,000 pound. It has been perfect so far. Wireless remote is awesome. I've also run it while it was completely under water with no issues.
  6. Tire Size Fitment Master Thread

Hey Duke, my apologies. I thought all Rangers came on 265s.
  7. Tire Size Fitment Master Thread

This. If it's not rubbing now, it won't rub later. Your Tiresize.com report shows a 255 factory tire going to 285, but the factory tire is 265, so it's 20mm up-sizing to go 285, not 25mm. A 10mm (3/8") spacer, or +45 off set rim will put the 285 tire, back to the same space from the spindle...
  8. Use a come-along for off road recovery?

Yea I fully read your thing, you said it’s stupid and a waste of money. Lol. Being synthetic there is no inherent danger if using it inline with the vehicle like there is with steel wire or kinetic straps. Also most winches are still wired controllers with an ~8 foot wire which generally puts...
  9. Use a come-along for off road recovery?

Such a limited view of others always being around, that a single winch can save you in all circumstances, and that nothing ever breaks. Think outside the box a little. I have a 12,000 Warn winch and I still carry the Bailey's come along because: 1 is none 2 is 1, and second pulling direction is...
  10. Use a come-along for off road recovery?

These are the best I have ever used. I have a 12K winch and still carry my Bailey's line puller when going solo back country, or wheeling when no one else in the group has a winch. I haven't had to use it as a primary yet, but have used it to pull sideways and keep me from sliding off a shelf...
  11. Normal Mileage for Factory Brake Pads?

I'm at 64200 KM (40,000 miles) I had to do rear brakes today. Admittedly I have a heavy foot, I drive fast and brake heavy as a result. I also have a heavy truck, with full steel skids plates throughout, steel sliders, steel front bumper, winch, bigger tires, and they are 8 ply. I also have a...
  12. Black lug nuts by Ford fit?

Oh-Be-Juan would ask: Who's more the Bozo? The Bozo at the dealership who scratches them, or the Bozo who brings it to the Bozo at the dealership? LOL, jus' teasin cuz I like that OB-1 quote, ha ha.
  13. Turn signal lane change ... is this normal?

That's how mine works too. A quick bump and it 3e flashes. If I hold for more than a bump, it flashes as long as I hold it then off right away. Whether that's less than 3 flashes or more than 3 flashes.
  14. Black lug nuts by Ford fit?

Most lock nuts aren't worth the cost or effort to have. The average wheel thief targeting anything specific, will have the basic cheater tools to defeat the common lock nuts. Also, factory Ranger rims, really only fit Rangers and don't carry top end demand for thieves. If you have very...
  15. Black lug nuts by Ford fit?

84658 are not the 64015 nuts. Look at the second image in this link it shows the straight side nuts in the 84658. https://shop.mcgard.com/black-cone-seat-wheel-installation-kit-for-6-lug-vehicles-m12-x-1-5-thread-size-set-of-20-lug-nuts-4-wheel-locks-1-key-and-key-storage-pouch 64015 are bulge...
  16. Payload?? How much can I dump in the bed?

Pay load, shmay load. That number is only like, their opinion, man. LOL
  17. Engine Cover Kit Discontinued??

Fook me, lol. I've never even looked in at mine, because I had the cover from factory. I thought it was only a problem for non cover motors. I parked outside for over a year too, and live in a snow belt. I bought new plugs a while back to be ready for the first change. I'm still only at 50,000...
  18. Engine Cover Kit Discontinued??

Wait, you still get water in #4 even with a cover?
  19. Payload?? How much can I dump in the bed?

Yes, which is why I said I was only noting the payload differences between models and packages, ie additonal weight of Screw vs Scab, or adding a tow package reduces the payload by the weight of the tow package.
  20. Payload?? How much can I dump in the bed?

It's a little over 2/3 ton, but who's counting. I wasn't complaining that it wasn't enough, only noting the difference between various models and packages.
