  2. Carlisle Events 2024

I'm registered. 10% discount if you register by June 17. If you would like to park in the Ranger-only section, select Non-Judged Showfield for $55 and in the drop-down for clubs select the only Ranger club on the list. It's not really a club and you don't have to join. I'm a member and anyone...
  3. What did you do to your Ranger today?

Rotated the tires. My system using two floor jacks: Jack up left side of truck. Move LR to LF, LF to LR, snug LR with 3 lugs because it's coming back off. Jack up right side of truck. Move RR to RF. Let down RF, move jack to LR. Move LR to RR. This is why I don't use all the lugs. Put RF on LR.
  4. Wheel dust shields

I'd try Tire Rack or Amazon, maybe J.C. Whitney if they still exist. I put Kleen Wheels on the front of my Dad's BMW 20+ years ago because the amount of brake dust was insane and they didn't cause any issues.
  5. Best year for 5g ranger

2020, just turned 70k, no issues and it's not de-contented. My cousin owns a repair shop and used car lot and says not to buy a 2021 or 2022 anything from anyone, they're all F'd up from parts and labor shortages during the pandemic.
  6. What did you receive in the mail today for your Ranger?

Black trim for the tailgate emblem. All the other trim is black so it kinda stuck out like a sore thumb.
  7. Your rig in epic camp sites!

Not exactly epic, but at the campground at the Ford Nationals in Carlisle, PA.
  8. What did you do to your Ranger today?

Changed the oil. Valvoline synthetic and Motorcraft filter.
  9. Coming up on 40k. A few preventative maintenance things the dealer is recommending

I simply change the brake fluid when I change the brakes. Induction cleaning not needed, just dump a bottle of Chevron Techron Fuel System Cleaner in the gas tank at every oil change. Tranny is up to you, I diligently changed the fluid in my previous Ford truck and it crapped out at 132k anyway...
  10. Increased gas mileage locking gears out.

No, just push the down arrow button on the shifter when in D. Push once and it brings up the gear display on the dash, again and it goes to 9, again and it goes to 8, etc. Doesn't change the shifting but only allows the transmission to go to the highest gear displayed. If you use the shifter...
  11. What did you receive in the mail today for your Ranger?

New windshield wipers to replace the winter blades. Even with shipping, Rock Auto was still cheaper than Walmart.
  12. Eight States Plan to Ban the Sale of Gas-Powered Vehicles as Biden Issues New Rules to Begin Killing Them Off

When ICE vehicles replaced the horse and buggy, oil companies built gas stations to fuel them up. When EV's are forced upon us, it will be the govt using your tax dollars to build charging stations because market demand by itself won't be enough.
  13. 2019 2WD Rear Differential Fluid Change Write-Up (~47K Miles)

Owner's manual calls for conventional 80w-90. Redline Synthetic 75w-90 was the only synthetic I found that met the Ford Spec in the owner's manual. I'm just sayin'....
  14. Towing question

Firestone makes an airbag kit, also there is the Roadmaster Active Suspension which is sort of an auxiliary spring that gets stiffer the more it's compressed,
  15. What did you do to your Ranger today?

    Hit 69,000 miles.
  16. Ford Nationals In Carlisle, PA

I'm registered for the Ford Nationals, May 31-June 2. There are two Ranger classes, 2012-earlier and 2019-up. The Ford Nationals does have camping at the Fairgrounds at reasonable cost, $65 for the weekend, with the early registration discount it was $129 with camping. Fairgrounds camping does...
  17. Best Cold Air Intake (Are they worth it?)

I ran a K&N replacement filter in my old Sport Trac for 13 years and over 200,000 miles and never had a problem. Those do have a MAF that can get fouled and throw a CEL if you put too much oil on it. I would clean mine once a year in the spring, not use too much oil, never had a problem. Still...
  18. Need help figuring out my build

I live in PA and spacers are illegal here too. I'm not a fan of them anyway. I've seen others say that 285/70's will fit with a 2.5" level if you get the high clearance crash bars from Ready Lift. I run a Truxxx 1.5" level and 265/70's but there's room left. Can't do any more or it won't fit...
