  3. Transmission work needed at 50,000 per Ford dealer

Yuppers - it is so sad when companies can't just do what is right by the customers anymore. but, that is why we have a court system to hold them accountable . . . as long as the person who goes up against them has enough money to fight a mega corporation . . . . shrug in the meantime we will...
  4. Transmission work needed at 50,000 per Ford dealer

I am reading the expert testimony now, all of this was to save a couple of bucks per vehicle in manufacturing . . . I can't read the data well enough to see what it has cost them so far, but I imagine they are wishing they had spent that extra 3 bucks per transmission . . .
  5. Transmission work needed at 50,000 per Ford dealer

Jesus, it gets worse and worse the more I read.
  6. Transmission work needed at 50,000 per Ford dealer

The descriptions on the last page - reads like what I told the service manager this morning . . . Good to see Ford isn't the only ones ignoring the problem . . .
  7. Transmission work needed at 50,000 per Ford dealer

I get it - wish in one hand - shit in the other and all that. I will have to glance over that link . . . really I can't imagine there really are that many transmissions having issues out there - I mean there are a large number, but probably not significant. I have to say it is interesting...
  8. Transmission work needed at 50,000 per Ford dealer

I know it is the CDF drum that causes the issues - but is it possible that the valve body AND the CDF drum are the issues? and not always on the same trans? ie my valve body might be gunked up and cleaning it fixes this for me (otherwise why is it a step in the TSB? [EDIT 2: or is that just a...
  9. What did you do WITH your Ranger today?

I refrained from asking them about the design flaw of the elevated bed. . .
  10. What did you do WITH your Ranger today?

I drove to the dealership to make an appointment for the transmission. While there I had them add that my shift boot is cracked, sounds like water is sloshing behind the passengers side dash and there is a whistling sound from the passengers side rear window area. appointment is the 29th of...
  11. there's hope!

N=2 is better than N=1... And I just got back from making an appointment for my 23 to have the tranny checked out - <22k miles... 😂
  12. Why is my coilover compressed and bent?

Wonder if the fox install has the same snap ring as the install guide describes. Wonder if the snap ring isn't set in the groove and causing this... I also wonder, does OP know exactly which kit was installed...
  13. Why is my coilover compressed and bent?

File is to big to upload here but - https://res.cloudinary.com/fox-factory/image/upload/v1699353156/BDS/023663.pdf Page 23-27 shows assembly of front suspension and it looks like it refuses the parts from the old strut. I gotta say, Jesus that looks precarious perched that high up there.
  14. Why is my coilover compressed and bent?

The bds website does not show a spring on the front. Did you look at the kit before it was installed or do you have a packing list from the order?
  15. Why is my coilover compressed and bent?

What springs did they install? Stock?
  16. Why is my coilover compressed and bent?

Yes, but the cause of it is what you want to fix, right? If it was a bad install, great, but what about the install was 'bad'. How are they going to make sure it doesn't happen again. I'd also try and get a better look at the lower spring perch/mount. Take the wheel off of both sides and...
  17. Tried to be careful, but this bites!

Also, you want to just warm the adhesive, not melt it. I specifically said hair dryer because of the damage a heat gun can cause if it's not used properly. A hairdryer on a medium setting will take longer than a heat gun on medium (different scales). I think of it like cooking - low and slow...
  18. Why is my coilover compressed and bent?

Could also be from the added stress of The 6" top hat spacer....
  19. Why is my coilover compressed and bent?

The bottom of the spring perch (?) is different. One looks nearly parallel to the sticker, the other.... Well...
  20. there's hope!

Now you've done it. His trans is going to blow up, his bed will crack. The blend door is going to stop working too! And let's not forget about the design flaws. The front being so low, the alternator being so low it dies with every puddle and the parking sensors that don't work when covered...
