The logistics of writing up the step by step procedure (involves installing some minor software to "register" the device to the VIN, plus other steps), renting, shipping, getting it to be returned timely, etc. is just more than I want to deal with. If there was enough Gen5 rangers in my metro...
Agreed. Just noting that the ProCAL offers the diff ratio option... which surprised me.
I have summer and winter tire/wheel sets, both not OEM sizes, will be using the ProCAL to make the adjustment each fall/spring.
Only caveat to this is: if you have non-OEM tire/wheel/diff ear ratios, you can use the ProCAL to set the correct speedometer settings (revolutions per mile based on tire/wheel combo) and/or diff ratio without FORSCAN or any stand-alone speedo adjustment tool.. Makes a huge difference in the...
Yep, did not drive it till the new cap came in (and did not press the brake peddle either)... cut a piece of inner tube, draped around the opening and zip tied it on waiting for the cap... 2 days. Good thing I have spare cars.
Sorry... OEM wheel recovered in perforated leather left & right, smooth leather top & bottom; Ford blue stitching; little extra padding... by Craft Customs of Rockwall, TX.
Much nicer feel than the less than premium leather(??) of the OEM material
The Ford LED version are brighter than the incandescent version. Not dramatically but definitely brighter. I have LED bulbs on my other cars that never had LED from the OEM and they have lasted just fine. Quality of the LED maker I would imagine is the overall controlling factor... environment...
FYI: Can't speak to the main issue of this thread BUT discovered a added benefit of the FPT - speedometer adjustment based on tire size and/or final drive ratio function.
Dealer had installed the tune when truck was new and I had no basic need to look at the tuning device since (3 years). Read...
Bump & price drop.
I am the second owner. Price is $100 + shipping. The software is up to date and works as expected (just updated my Ranger today Sunday 21st just to verify all was working correctly).
Turns out that because I have the Ford Performance Tune on my truck, the tuner device also...
Agreed... I left a step out of the story: When it first fell, looked in the black hole and could see the cap. Tried using a VERY long nosed needle nose plied top grab it but the moment I touched it, it slid the rest of the way down to under the booster. 🙄
That's when I was so exacerbated with...
LOL... Status update:
Was to tired Monday to fight with it after crawling under the truck to see if I could find/see it, so easiest was order a new one.
So tonight after picking up the new one and in a better frame of mind, I proceeded to put the new one in and take photo of the Ranger's black...
I did look but the fluid was so clear I could not see a line from the outside... also as it was full right up to the cap bottom, there was really no line to see.
I was checking the brake fluid level on Monday evening just because... it's been 3 years.
Took the cap off; all is good, right where it should be. Went to put the cap back on and it slip off/out of my hand; down to driver fender side, onto the mass of hoses, brake lines, wiring... never to be...
FYI: I needed a new puddle light (don't ask) on the driver side. Thought I had bought after market set, but they did not fit. Went to the local Ford dealer expecting the non-LED of the original 2019 Ranger but to my surprise, the replacement Ford OEM lights are LED! Dealer said he had noticed...
