  1. Fuel in oil

Could be. I frequented F150 forums when I had my 2014 F150 Tremor before getting my Ranger. Some of the earlier build (2011-2012) F150s with the 3.5 EcoBoost had this exact problem - a leaking HPFP dumping fuel into the oil. I never had that issue in mine fortunately. When I changed the oil...
  2. V8 Ranger Raptor Rumored For Australia

Although that would be cool, I'd think there'd have to be some serious under hood and sub-frame work. I used to have a 2011 Mustang GT. The Coyote V8 is HUGE compared to the 2.3 Ecoboost. If true, I wonder if they've actually widened the truck a bit?!
  3. [Updated] Ranger Ford Performance Power Pack Performance Tune Software (M-9603-REB) Released!

Looks comparable to the Ford Performance tune for the Ecoboost Mustangs. My coworker has that on his Mustang and it gives a nice boost over stock in mid-range torque that you can feel. He said he did notice an MPG hit with it. Be interesting to see how it does on the Ranger.
  4. Metroplex

Wylie Black XLT FX4 Crew Cab
  5. MBRP Black series cat back exhaust

I have the MBRP on my Ranger as well (aluminized, not black although I did plasti-dip the tip in black). I think it sounds good, but I wouldn't mind it a bit louder either. No drone or added NVH that I can really tell and it's not obnoxious like many 4 cylinders sound Frankly, I thought the...
  6. PandaMotorWorks Tailgate Damper

I'm going to jump in for this as well. Although the Ranger tailgate is much lighter than the one on my F150 was, these dampers sure do make it easy to open when you have your hands full and only have a finger free to pop the latch.
  7. Front license plate bolts have very sharp edges

Truth. I'm going to replace them with some smooth edged option like I did on my F150. It had these same bolts with the sharp edges, after I ripped my knee open the second time (squeezing around my truck when in the garage), I replaced them.
  8. Oil Catch Can. Yes or No?

I still have my old UPR can from my 3.5, with hoses, connectors, and check valves. I'm sure I could fab it up to work if I looked at what RCMUSTANG did. But, I'm also curious what companies like Mishimoto may come up with for a Ranger specific kit. I'll also be curious to see updates from...
  9. Oil Catch Can. Yes or No?

I ran a catch can on my 2014 F150 Tremor I just got rid of to get my Ranger this past week. It does seem the 2.3s PCV system is better designed than that of the Gen 1 3.5 EcoBoost. However, I'm sure that using one on the 2.3 is a net benefit. How much, hard to say? Too many variables in...
  10. New Members Introduce Yourself!

I'll formally introduce myself now... Given that the 2020s aren't bringing anything major to the table, I traded my 2014 F150 Tremor today for a Shadow Black Ranger Crew Cab XLT 302A, FX4, and Tow Package. I needed to seat more than 1 passenger without wanting to have to step up to a crew cab...
  11. Who's Ordering a 2020 Ranger? What Changes Will It Get?

As much as the 2.7 ecoboost would be cool, it seems really unlikely unless in a special, limited production model. Maybe it will happen for the next full redesign. Overall, I hope there are no major changes to the 2020 that I can't live without (or maybe I could at least retrofit). I'd like to...
  12. Bed Size & Performance Q's from a Potential Buyer

Thanks all. Sounds like the crew cab with bed extender would meet my needs 90+% of the time and I can use my utility trailer for those oddball loads. I don't often carry full sheets of plywood anyway... khyros, thanks for your input on the performance numbers versus actual driving feel...
  13. Bed Size & Performance Q's from a Potential Buyer

A couple questions/comments from a potential future Ranger owner. I currently have a 2014 F150 Tremor that has served me well, however the limitation of being only able to carry one passenger is becoming a bit of an issue. But a supercab or supercrew F150 is overkill for my needs. I rarely tow...
