How did you manage to get the bolts loose? All the videos Iāve watched they are just using a ratchet. Iāve put all the man strength I have into a ratchet, and they donāt budge. It went on without touching the spare tire.
Mine were tight as well but no match for the impact wrench. If you dont have one youāll need to get something to use as a leverage bar on the socket wrench. How did you manage to get the bolts loose? Or try a few love taps to your 1/2 ratchet or breaker bar with a deadblow hammer.. You can pick a 4lb one up at Harbor Freight for around $12.. https://www.harborfreight.com/4-lb-neon-orange-dead-blow-hammer-69004.htmlMine were tight as well but no match for the impact wrench. Exactly! No need to buy extra harnesses in most cases or a $450 tow package!I just installed this the other day, easy! about 20 minutes total --- its easy if you use a lug wrench to remove the bolts, those 4 way ones usually have a 21 mm side and give you plenty of leverage--- most of us already have one. I did get a new torque wrench to get the bolts back to 146 ft lb. I don't know if Ill ever need to tow but its nice to have just in case and the factory 4 wire connecter is already there and doesn't need to be moved. For about $100 bucks most basic tow needs can be added if you don't have the factory tow pkg.
