The trailer hitch is a easy 30 minute install. 4 bolts off and 4 bolts on.

It went on without touching the spare tire.

How did you manage to get the bolts loose? All the videos Iā€™ve watched they are just using a ratchet. Iā€™ve put all the man strength I have into a ratchet, and they donā€™t budge.

Mine were tight as well but no match for the impact wrench. If you dont have one youā€™ll need to get something to use as a leverage bar on the socket wrench.

I installed mine yesterday. Didnā€™t remove the tire. I had the tabs clamped but the bumper still wanted to tilt down. Fortunately I had a friend helping me and I held the bumper up while he got the hitch lined up and a couple of bolts started. BTW, we didnā€™t have a 21 mm so used a 13/16 SAE. It fit the bolts very tight. We also used a 3 ft cheater bar to get the bolts loose. After snugging them back down we used the cheater bar to tighten them a little more. Maybe 1/8 of a round more. All in all it was a pretty easy install.

I installed this with the help of a good friend of mine in his garage. We used an impact wrench to zip off the bumper bolts without any issues. We used the same impact wrench to snug the bolts back up before using a click torque wrench to insure they were tightened properly.

The only thing I'm not crazy about with this hitch is how deep it sits under the bumper. With the the ball mount inserted into the hitch the ball sits too close to the bumper to tow anything. Now I'm going to have to buy a different ball mount and hope it works!

I just installed this the other day, easy! about 20 minutes total --- its easy if you use a lug wrench to remove the bolts, those 4 way ones usually have a 21 mm side and give you plenty of leverage--- most of us already have one. I did get a new torque wrench to get the bolts back to 146 ft lb. I don't know if Ill ever need to tow but its nice to have just in case and the factory 4 wire connecter is already there and doesn't need to be moved. For about $100 bucks most basic tow needs can be added if you don't have the factory tow pkg.

Exactly! No need to buy extra harnesses in most cases or a $450 tow package!

But, compared to the factory hitch, the aftermarket receiver hangs down like a ruptured duck...

It's one of those things that unless you don't know the difference it won't bother you.
