I know a few are using the P rated 265/70/17 is anyone using the 285/70/17?

Pretty hefty difference on the weight per tire and I was wondering how MPG are holding up on the P rated. I do 0 off-roading so this is just a complete imposter grocery getter.

With the 265's you're going to lose roughly 1-3 mpg's and the 285's roughly 4-6mpg's. It's also going to depend on your driving style and terrain. Seeing FL is mostly flat and you're not off roading you'll probably be at the lower side of those. If you have a heavy foot of drive in S mode a lot you'll be towards the higher side.

Trust me I beat this to death for over a month before buying mine and the 265/70/17's are the best choice if you're looking for a better tire, beefier look and not killing your mpg. If gas milage isn't a consideration go with the 285's. If my Ranger wasn't my daily driver I would most definitely of gone with the 285's. :)

I’ve been throwing around the idea of the wrangler 255/75/17 also.

They only weigh 40 pounds!

you get the height from the side profile but just lose the beef from the front view.

So far for the last 3 days my average mpg in the city have been 21mpg with winter blend 87. And that is tuned. Not to bad if I say so myself.

Did you have to do a lift in order to upgrade your tires?
