I’ve been semi-looking for a bike to start riding on roads. Was perusing the local Goodwill for wood furniture to restore / cheap tools and came across this bike for $15.

It is a Trek 5200 OCLV Carbon. It’s an older bike, but hot damn I got a carbon fiber frame road bike for $15. It needed a good tune up and some other odds and ends.

I got it back from the local bike shop with a fresh set of cables, tubes, a new chain, fresh handlebar tape and a tuneup. Looking forward to learning more about this sport and getting some miles in!

Now THAT'S a deal.
I am an avid bicyclist,
Trek is my favorite maker.
Yours looks like Circa 2000. ... Ultegra??
I just saw a 2003 on EBAY for $879.!!!

I've been considering a Trek FX6 Sport for my first Carbon bike.
I presently have
1-Trek 400, 3-Trek 820s, 1-Trek 830 , 1-Trek 1400, 1- Trek 700, 1- Bridgestone RB-1, 1- Cannondale H-400 and 1-Dahon folder.

I love the RB-1 and the 400 for street use, the 1400 is light and FAST, The Cannondale is a perfect trail bike, the 700 is set up for night riding with laser pavement lights and various other lighting.
So you see I only have a minimum number of bikes!... Well, maybe just one more?

Yup! It’s a 2000 with Ultegra. I was browsing around EBay and saw other 5200’s in the same timeframe from $500 to $1,000. Yes it was a deal!

I still have no clue what I’m doing, but I hope by spring I’ll get any other gear I need.

holy guacamole you have a lot of bikes!

You'll love that 5200 !
I do bikes for a local charity , maybe a couple hundred a year, some times I get 50 or so at a time and make 25-30 good bikes out of them... It is very rare to find something like you found in the pile... Mostly broken and abandoned WalMart bikes.
I'm off the bike now because of IllAnnoy weather but I'm heading for Southern Florida next month so I'll get some miles on!
