Does anybody but me actually use the running boards?

Since my truck went up a couple of inches it made a big difference in getting in and out of the truck to me. I'm 5 foot 8 getting in the truck without using a floorboard just causes me to scrape my ass across the front seat and bolsters.

I found a way using the floorboards to enter the truck to where my ass is higher than a seat and I could just plant myself in without seat drama. so the first time I've actually used running boards on the truck for what they're designed for. I use them to exit if I am dressed up so I don't get the strip of dirt on the back of my pant legs sliding out of the seat. , However, I rarely dress up so thats, not a problem

I use them for getting into the truck. I just grab the steering wheel with my right hand (a reverse grip at 10 o'clock) and step on the running board with my left foot and lift myself in. I'm just use to this way from all my F150's which were a lot higher. I saw the post where some were complaining about hitting the headlight knob but I've never had that problem and still can't figure out how they're hitting it,I'm 5'7" so maybe that's why lol. Also my girlfriend is 5' nothing and has a bad knee so she would not be able to get in without them.

I use them to get in the truck the majority of the time. Never use them for getting out. They are used when cleaning the top of the cab as well.

I use them every time to enter, but not to exit. I'm 5'5" on a good day.

My truck has a 2.5" Radflo lift, sitting on 285/70R17's. I was using the steps even before the lift and bigger tires.

They're great for helping me reach the top when I'm cleaning/drying.

Hi Tom,

I use them every time I get into the Ranger and I am 5' 11". Wife is 5' 2" and all upper body...very short legs...She must use them or no way she can climb up into the cab. Especially now that she has to lug a 5lb oxygen concentrator up with her...Sigh...:(

5’10” here too... I use them occasionally but put them on for my wife and for my daughter when she gets old enough to get in on her own!

No worries... I'm think about some rock sliders... but running boards without splash aprons look like, well, like steps on a swimming pool deck.

And if you don't know what splash aprons are..... Henry Ford says "You Are Not Worthy"

I use me every time I get in the truck. Grab the wheel, pull myself up.

Still thinking of getting rid of them and getting rock rails though.
