Paid $926 for the initial tags and personal property tax. Next year will be pretty close to the same... and thats for a 40k truck haha. The Volvo is another cringe.

That's just in poor CA. haha. I'll never complain about the roads here in AZ. Compared to everyone else I've driven they are by far in the best condition.

They would be brought to their knees by a few months of freeze/thaw :) I'm not saying it's easy to keep snow belt roads clean and smooth, but I feel like they aren't even trying despite robbing us (in Michigan) for road tax at every corner.

Check this crap out...

That's just one example of the mis-management going on. They are still trying to pour concrete and fix whatever roads they tore up this summer because their projects are running over time and over budget and we're out of above freezing weather. You can drive by just about any major construction site (identified by orange barrels in the road) and see almost nobody working on any given day.

You should move to Missouri. It's only around $50 for two year renewal. Of course, Mo. doesn't have enough money to repair our roads but at least the license fee is cheap.
You FORGOT to add the annual "property tax" on all moving vehicles... That's where Missouri gets you... That's why that state had to move the registration sticker back to the CENTER of the license plates due to all the plate tab theft some 15+ years ago.

I do know one thing...
I would NEVER buy a new car if registration was nearly a thousand dollars.
If the cut off line were 10YO, then that would be the newest car in my garage.

Californians moved to Denver to escape this kind of nonsense, only to bring it with them.
I sympathize with the people of Colorado who must suffer this invasion and occupation.
Chicago has metastasized here in IllAnnoy, and our state is on life support.

Well it's registration time for me....

And ironically I remembered your post.

The Ranger is the seventh vehicle in my corral & I hit the thousand dollar mark for all seven vehicles this year....

I'm lucky, though, I can start six months "early" & pick which vehicles to start paying registration fees so that when it's my birthday [DUE DATE]: I'm down to just one vehicle I owe.

New registration for mine was $1168. That includes excise tax and new plate fees. Each year it will drop a bit. In comparison, my Hyundai started out at $500ish dollars and I paid $168 the same time as my Ranger.

Yeah it sure adds up!
My Pinto is not currently registered, I just converted the Mustang to extended use antique plates ($51)
Ranger ($151)
TC ($151)
My Bicycles are still free (for now)

I have a friend with 26 vehicles..... registration is a nightmare for him.

Hi Floyd,

When I moved to Arizona in 2005, my RV was tabbed at $4000 a year on a sliding scale. So I kept it registered in Michigan at $635. Now that the value of the RV has plumeted, I pay $200 a year in Arizona as Michigan is still $635... My new Nautlis is $1600 a year license plate fee in Arizona. Sheesh!

Best,

Just received mine in the mail today..... $602.35 :surprised: The registration is only $8.00 but the VLT (tax) is $560.05 then a few other taxes and fees.
