It's Ford just being cheap. For 2019 Ford removed the F150 2.7L engine shrouds on the XL/XLT's too.
Exactly. Like running out of bed tie downs and then just leaving the center 2 off of the trucks until more came in. Who does that?

In New Jersey, I paid $36.70 for the cover + $5.20 for the (2) nut and washer and $2.80 for a stud (not sure I need this stud, I see one on the egine block)
Where are you getting it from in NJ for $36.70?

At least $70 by me in Northern NJ.

Looks better without that cover anyway.
Agreed!! That cover will never be on my 2.3 Why give a nice little nesting spot for some little bugger rodent to start chewing on it and the wiring also. Why not let the heat escape from the top end rather than smothering it on those boiling hot days. Just my .02

The cover reminds me of the hat Wimpy wears.... size "double 00 small".

Why they didn't make it larger is a mystery to me:question:

Yea I am going to say I am disappointed in Ford.

No engine cover.
No tailgate seal.
No tailgate damper.
Missing tie downs.
Etc.
Who does not put a seal around the tailgate?
Whats next a model where you have to buy dashboard knobs.

Starting to feel it is intentional in order to sell more parts. Look how many dampers alone they sold.

Purchased, and installed the cover this week-- Got all the components from Silver State Ford, in Las Vegas--Looks great and it is definitely quieter, but I think I will remove it during the "peak" heat months, get some air over the coils!

Installed the cover yesterday and confirm that it REDUCES the injector noise - it is definitely still there but it's a bit more bearable. Planning to give the dealer some flack on the 1st oil change to see if there is anything else we can do to quite it down. I'm also thinking about adding the Apollo GT axle-back to further help drown it out. Has anyone else had success eliminating the tick? It reminds me of playing cards on bicycle spokes.

That “ticks” are high pressure injectors are they not? Normal on DI engines. To correct one would unplug, but engine then would not run. Nature of the beast I thought??????????
