And some would like add more things to their Ranger.

There's probably more than 200 accessories for the Ranger. Most of it could be useless. Or very expensive. But people buy it anyway. Spend spend spend.
Yep.... and here we are...

$23,000,000,000,000 plus...

I wonder how well they work. The dealer I bought my truck from actually had me sign a "tire chain disclosure" that says "AS EQUIPPED, THIS VEHICLE MAY NOT BE OPERATED WITH TIRE CHAINS BUT MAY ACCOMMODATE SOME OTHER TYPE OF TIRE TRACTION DEVICE. SEE THE OWNER'S MANUAL FOR DETAILS."
I have personally watched a 2wd BMW drive away from me in a chain up area with Auto Socks on. They put them on in far less time and with much less effort than it took me to get the chains on my Focus. I also watched a few YouTube videos and after all that I decided it was worth taking the chance. I'm very confident and careful in snow but if I ever need them I feel like they'll come through for me.

I'd like to see this as an option for the Ranger.

To each his own, but I'm definitely going to turn down this option. Maybe I missed something (had to watch the video without sound), but I don't see what the advantage is. They showed it being used to get the tailgate out of the way for hooking up a fifth-wheel. I don't see a whole lot of Ranger drivers (including myself) being the sort to use a fifth wheel, but even if they did, it's easy enough to get the tailgate our of the way by simply dropping it; it doesn't need to scoot under the bed like that. I can see why some people would want to be able to get the tailgate out of the way for pulling things out of the bed, but that can be accomplished more simply/much cheaper with the incorporation of the swing-style tailgate that some manufacturers are already using.

Additional issues: how did they create the space to pull in the tailgate like that? Either you have to lower the things that currently exist beneath the bed (lowering clearance, one the of the Ranger's selling points), or raise the bed even higher (those of us who a little less vertically gifted definitely don't need a higher bed). Last but not least, how quickly would that difference in height between the bed and the lowered tailgate get annoying?

So it get full points for looking nifty in action, but I'm going to pass.

Sure.... as an option. Trucks are already 30 grand... some folks live within their means, have hand tools, and would prefer to save their money for a rainy day.
Everyday is a rainy day when one is retired LOL.

I know I'm guilty.

I have a few accessories I'll probably never use. I have an engine block heater. Since I live in South Texas, I may not use it.

I also have the FX4 package. Always wanted an off road vehicle. And now that I have one, I don't have the time to go off road. Meh, one of the these days, I may make some time.
Block heater in S. Texas? Yeah you won't use it. I live in a much colder climate and I can say the block heater is not really needed. With my Ranger, 2 minutes warm up and you already got heat in the cabin. It's amazing how fast these newer (aluminum) engines warm up & transfer heat.
