Well, comfort is a personal thing. One man's Lay-Z-Boy is another's folding chair.

I drove my XLT Ranger FX4 on a 7000 mile trip from Florida to California and back this summer and found the seats to be the most comfortable truck seats I'd ever sat in Sorry your experience was not a good one.
I agree,

yes it does.
Ford pass is connected via your VIN.
Your VIN connects to a build order
which identifies what tires they installed.

Now go and change those tires to anything but original, not only is Ford Pass out of the loop, your door stickers are wrong, but thats a different point.
I'm pretty sure you're the most argumentative person on this forum. I'm fully aware, as are likely the majority of others, that the vehicle's VIN is entered into FordPass but that still doesn't mean it knows what tires are installed. There are a myriad of reasons why it would be different including Ford making a change at the factory without updating FordPass which is entirely plausible considering how rarely the app is updated in the first place.

To further illustrate my point, below is my VIN report. You'll notice that, as I expected, your VIN does not specifically identify your OEM tire but rather the options of tires that could be installed at the factory and that depends on a variety of things. Thus, FordPass would once again have no idea what your tires are and is merely guessing. As many have stated already, just look at the damn door jam or the side wall of the tires themselves and end any chance of confusion.

Do you think just getting the regular fox suspension and not the "ford performance tune" would yield the same results?

$200 for a suspension "tune" seems a little obsessive?
I got the Ford-branded Fox kit and so cannot speak to the "pure" Fox kits, but some other members have been pleased with them. I suspect that there is really very little difference among them, and the so-called Ford "tuning" is just a face-saving measure. However, I wanted to get the Ford-branded version and had it installed by Ford technicians in order to preserve my warranties.

Bought my ranger last week. So far it is the most uncomfortable vehicle I have ever been in or owned. During the test drives it seemed fine but after driving 30+ mins at a time it is just the worst.

I can not for the life of me find a comfortable seating position at all.

The suspension is like I am riding around a in a bounce house. I have never been in a vehicle so bouncy. Something else I did not notice when test driving.

Anyone else have these issues? I can deal with the bounciness but the uncomfortable seat might just make me get rid of it.

Step out of the truck and examine the tailgate and the grille to see if you actually bought a new Ranger.
C'Mon...I know it is at least more comfy than a Plymouth with the life ending seat adjustment...

As per usual, you don't read replies when you feel like you're being attacked without just jumping to conclusions and judgement. It's a shame you do this so easily since I tend to agree with the things you say around the forum though that doesn't make you any less argumentative. However, in this case, when presented with evidence that disputes your assertion of fact in this thread, instead of coming up with a reasonable response, you resort to conjecture. Unfortunate, but you're entitled to your opinion.

thats what makes forums great isnt it?
Not really. I completely ignored you because you make comments like you are a 12 year old and I have only seen a few posts from you.

Anyways, if anyone has other suggestions about seat comfort which is the topic of this thread and what I am looking for I am all ears. :)

Most comfortable truck for me as well by far. Was looking at a 2019 Tacoma Limited but it had a terrible ride compared to the Ranger. And the Ranger is quieter than my 2016 Explorer was!

I will say that the bounce you are talking about was there when I test drove it, and it was one of two knocks it got in early reviews. However, that bounce went away completely after I installed my rangerlifts 3" leveling kit.

That's the funny thing about seats and personal comfort. So much goes in to it. Most of the folks here that find them comfortable compare the comfort to a Lazy Boy. Sounds like you are a pretty big (tall?) guy? I'm 6'3" but pretty lanky.
How are you with reaching the window switches with the left arm? I'm 6' and long arms, I have a hard time toggling them.

Long thread and I haven't read the whole thing, so apologies if some of these things were mentioned already, but like many others, I'm fine with the ride, though it did take a few weeks to get used to. When I think back, pretty much every vehicle we've had has taken a few weeks to feel like "home". For the seats, maybe they're not a good match to your body shape and some aftermarket cushions or back supports might help.

However, the ride is somewhat bouncy, even with the normal dampers, but particularly with the FX4 package which even a bit more under-damped. The bounciness can be changed to some degree with aftermarket dampers that are adjustable so you can tune the amount of damping for the load or for on-vs-off road. That way you won't need to drive around with extra weight in the back and reduce the fuel economy.

Some folks will say that if you need to make changes like that then the vehicle is not a good match, but in some ways, it's a better match than if there are things that you don't like that you can't change.

I spent Thanksgiving driving my brothers Subaru Impressa and drove home in my Ranger crew cab XLT FX4. I kept saying to my wife how much I loved the truck and how great it was driving it over three Colorado passes. The seats were much better than the Subaru and airplane seats. Also it was much easier to get in and out of the Ranger than the Subaru.

I have a 4WD XL super cab. I have owned a 1959 F250 now that was un comfortable , but fun, 2 Mazdas 1 rotary now that had power but cramped, the second a 2.6 it was cramped too , 1999 XLT Ranger 3L auto. it was the most comfortable untill my 2019. My better half has always commented on all of these as "rides like a truck" who would think? BUT the comment on my 2019 it is bouncy on railroad tracks and mountable curbs. Because her comfort level is important I asked after a 1500 mi road trip and her comment it is quite comfortable . It is not a Lincoln, but for all my trucks it as close as it gets!

Strange. Before purchasing our Ranger we drove most of the mid-sized pickups and settled on the Ranger because it was the most comfortable. It's also the best handling truck on the highway I've driven. We're quite pleased.

Yes, if you're expecting a car-like ride you will may be disappointed. Because it is a truck. But as trucks go, it's excellent.

I'm starting to think that terrible rides are more associated with 2WD? Anyone keeping track?

When I was selling cars in the 90's, I had a husband and wife come in looking for a compact car that would seat five. They were comparison shopping a Honda Civic and a Toyota Corolla . I showed them a Taurus; too big. Escort? Too small. Tempo LX 4dr.; just right. they remarked about the good outward vision, biggest trunk and how smooth it shifted and rode, quieter than the Civic and they bought it. Less than a week later, they were back to unwrap the deal. Now, they said it was hard to steer, poor gas milage, lousy radio... on and on. The car checked out just fine, but ultimately the store unwound the deal and we took the car back. I can't prove it, but I suspect that the "car expert" in the family or circle of friends was from the "American Bad- Foreign Good" school, and/ or all their work buddies, neighbors church group etc drove Aisan cars, and they felt out of place, maybe chastised for not conforming.

I'm not saying that your buyer's remorse is unfounded, there may be a defect in your seat. I would encourage you to read through your Owner's Manual carefully to familiarize yourself with the Tilt & Telescope steering wheel and all of the seat, headrest and shoulder belt adjustments. If you still cannot find a comfortable seating position at all, then I would talk to your selling dealer about unwrapping the deal. If you traded a vehicle in, it might be possible to get that vehicle back if you want. If you decide to trade it in or sell it yourself, keep in mind that there are huge discounts and rebates across all brands currently, and that has a negative impact on the value of late model used vehicles.
