I took mine in last Wednesday. Blower motor failed inspection and i'm still waiting for the replacement arrival call. On Friday, I called to make sure that it had been ordered. I was told it was ordered and that Ford would call me when it arrived at the dealer who I purchased from and did the inspection. It's strange to me why it wouldn't be the dealer that would call. I'm starting to get impatient. I've never had any recall issues with my only other vehicle, my 94" Ranger, so this process is all new to me.

I just had the HVAC blower motor replaced. In short, it took 9 days from dealer diagnosis to getting the part in. It took just under an hour to replace. I didn’t notice anything off before the replacement, so hopefully this will provide more peace of mind.

Got the call from my dealer today that the new blower fan is in. 18 days isn't too bad I guess. Now to make an appointment...

I wonder if they have a date range for the vehicle production date now. The recalled is based on the production date of the blower motor itself. I guess it wouldn't be too difficult to figure out which blower motor production range is installed on which truck.

There is. Right in the recall. If your truck falls on a certain date range, bring it in and they check to see if the blower falls in a certain date range. That's why some of us got the recall notice and others didn't.

yup. I did not get a notice but that doesn't always mean much. Just did not want to worry about it all thru winter heat season!

Well folks, the problem might be worse than we thought. My wife went to bring in the truck today. When she got there the service dept. told her that they would not be putting in the new fan as Ford has put a stop to the fix. Apparently, a new fan isn't going to solve the problem and they don't know when a fix will be available. The word came from corporate this morning and the dealer already packed up whatever blowers they got in for repairs to return to Ford. It would have been nice if the dealer had actually called us first so my wife didn't waste her time from work to get this done, but that's a separate issue.

Unfortunately, I don't have any more info other than what she was told today. I searched on the net, but haven't found anything.

For the record, I couldn't figure out how to contact a mod, otherwise there is no need for a second thread. I can't update the title of my original thread. If a mod sees this, could you please update the other thread and/or merge accordingly.

My wife brought the Ranger in to get the recall performed. They informed her (Nov. 18) that there was a stop out on the fix and that they wouldn't be installing a new blower. Apparently, a new blower is not the cure and all the blowers they ordered are being packed up and sent back to Ford. There is currently no known fix. I haven't been able to find any corroberating information on the 'net.

Yup, fire. I think only one has actually caught fire and a handful started smoking. Document your mods and remove anything personal/important for the time being, I guess...

Well shit. They replaced my motor before I took delivery and now I'm not looking forward to hearing what actually might be the issue. Let's hope it's something they can figure out quickly.

I missed the recall memo...what's the problem?
You may have missed it because it only affects a certain date range. The problem is that the truck could catch fire. No biggie.
