hey ranger friends!

Just looking through forums for seat issues. My passenger side seat has a loose thread on lumbar side where the bottom of your rib cage would be. I’ve got under 2k miles. Anyone know if warranty deals with this at all?
Thanks in advance!

You could trim off a bit of the loose ends, then carefully use a sharp wooden tooth pick with the tiniest bit of superglue on the tip. then "comb" the stitch back together with the toothpick tip taking care to avoid gluing the stitch to the leather. once dry you will have a solid stitch. if it is still looped out, then take a fresh tooth pick and tuck it in through the stitch hole.
I have done this a few times on cloth but only once on leather. The leather was black, after polishing you could not see the stitch.
I don't know how much it may show on light gray, but it should do well and it will at least keep it from spreading or snagging again.
BTW, they do make a permanent marker exactly that color.... you might try it in a discreet spot.

Hi BB,

There is no excuse for this poor quality from the interior components supplier. Take it to the dealer and I hope it gets back to the supplier to cram it down their throat that their quality sucks big time. I do not know who the supplier is, would not surprise me if it was not Lear. I sat in so many meetings with Lear, the "Cannot Do" supplier. Why Ford Purchasing sourced to them is beyond my grasp...

One other point the upholstry is removable and once removed could be repaired.
A good upholstery shop can do great repairs , often doing in minutes what we could do in hours or not at all.

@Alex jones They should warranty that. My Stone Leather driver seat leather was wearing off on the side seat bottom and on the back of the seat about wear your leather belt would sit and they replaced it with about 10k miles on the odometer. I just had it replaced yesterday and now need to take it back in because the new seat cover isn't installed correctly and is very loose around the ranger logo.
