Mobil 1 the best. I have been using it in all my trucks and wife's car.
Same here, Mobil 1. Been using it since the 1980's. The engineer I use to work for used aviation grade in his P51 Mustang, can't get a better recommendation then that!

I just got the truck, Iā€™ll change the oil at around 1000 miles, call me crazy but Iā€™m just old school, and going right to full synthetic with a ford racing filter (if theyā€™re available for the ranger Iā€™m not sure yet I still have some research to do).

What I did for my ā€˜13 Raptor and 80k miles later she runs like a top.

I stock up on oil and filters when they go on sale. I stocked up on my choice of (5) 5 quart jugs of synthetic oil and (4) Motorcraft FL-910's.

Oil was on sale for about $24 per jug plus $10 mail in rebate for up to 4 jugs (-$40)
FL-910's about $5 each

Ends up being about $25 for a full synthetic oil change.... much cheaper than the dealer or quickie place.

Log date/miles/service description/invoices numbers on a spreadsheet, on my laptop, for warranty purposes and save paper invoices.
After having all my maintenance performed at the dealer for my last car under warranty I think I'm going to switch to this method. I'd much rather spend the extra money on quality products than the labor to have someone else do it.

of course they would recommend their most expensive oil. haha

Testing shows it's a better oil. It only costs $6 dollars more for a 5 gallon jug.

I use Amsoil so will be following up with it on the Ranger using 5W-30 Signature series. Will also use their EA15K51 filter. Changing both at factory recommended 10k intervals.

Will you be using their High Zinc oils?

I believe that only comes in their racing lines, but as nobody here seems to want to mention cool-down intervals of the turbo shaft or bearings, it's worth pointing out that, in general, turbocharged applications will want that zinc additive. The Amsoil High-Zinc was a fantastic oil for my 2006 Mitsubishi Evo. I religiously sent in oil samples to Blackrock labs to determine when the oil was chemically breaking down (Uh, it LOOKS dirty!). Was getting over 7,500 miles before needing to be changed with the Amsoil products.

Mobile 1 silver....... Yea, not so much. Have they updated that product in the past two decades? (the old joke was "this decade", but that's going on a decade of using that joke so it has to be adjusted)

Iā€™ll be using this flavor https://www.amsoil.com/shop/by-prod...00-percent-synthetic-motor-oil/?code=ASLQT-EA

I donā€™t see a need for a racing high zinc oil for this but I can agree in what you had, Iā€™d use that too. The only turbo Iā€™ve ever owned is my TDI. I used their Euro 5w-30 but a different animal. Kudoā€™s to you for running them and sending the oil in!

Amsoil makes a great product that is proven. I wouldnā€™t use Mobil anything personally. I have never used their silver. Surprised more people donā€™t use it as the cost is similar. It used to be a pain because if you donā€™t have a dealer close by to stock it, you had to ship it. I can see that being a PITA for a lot of people. Now they have the $100 purchase free shipping.

Be careful... those high zinc oils can form deposits. Curious what Amsoil recommends for our Rangers? They have industry leading Noack test scores on their full synthetic... which is very impressive.

a lot of those test dates seem out of date. And I think Pennzoil Ultra Platinum is relatively new. which I would rather see than the one shown.

Amsoil.. it holds up to abuse and lasts longer when using meth injection.
