So I have a Ranger XLT with the basic Sync setup. Small screen, physical buttons. There is no setting for GPS time or anything like that. Clock settings have two options: set time, and 24 hour clock.

Everything has been fine until yesterday:

7:30am I get on a ferry.
Sit in the truck the 40 min ferry ride. Vehicle off.
Get to to the dock on the other side, start it up, the clock shows 5:05PM

I set it back to 8:09am.

Drive for 30 min, stop at a coffee stop. Have a coffee, get back in (it's about 9:15am now) and the clock shows 8:20am.

I have no idea what could cause this.

I would doubt there's a Sync update already but it's worth checking that out first. If you go to Http://www.syncmyride.com and enter your VIN it'll tell you if it's up to date. Using a thumb drive you can update it accordingly.

get it reproducible (like, it gains 5 min for every minute it's off or whatever) and take it to the dealer. sounds like a really oddball hardware problem, not something that can be tweaked.

Thanks for posting this.

My XL did the same thing about a week after we bought it. The clock was an hour off... I re-set it to be correct. Next time I got in it was an hour off again? I again re-set it to be correct.

It's been fine for the last couple weeks.

Weird.
