I just thought I’d post these up since I dropped my spare today to get it ready to swap the larger tire on next weekend.

It’s not a huge jump in size but it’s definitely noticeable. The 265/70R17 is a General Grabber ATX and the 265/65R17 is the stock Hankook.

And just for fun, it doesn’t look very big compared to a 26x4.8” bike tire, it’s just barely taller!

I would think a 265/60-18 and 265/65-18 would be virtually the same in size difference..

Yes sir, they are nearly the identical outer dimensions as these two.

I'm trying to hold back from buying a set of Michelin Defender LTX in a 65 series. I'm glad the $70 rebate is over. :)

I don’t see why not, the less miles on your stock tires, the more you’ll get for them! That was my thinking when I bought these... whether it works out or not to sell them. I bought a set of five of these Grabbers for $502 CAD... that’s under $400 USD!

My brother-in-law works for Continental/General.
Oh got to like connections. I was trying to get some Grabber Arctic Winter tires and they are all out of stock everywhere, I'm looking at some Yokohamas now.

I had General Altimax Arctics on my Mazda for 9 winters and they were great!

I’m having Cooper Discoverer M+S winter tires in 265/70R17 put on the Ranger on Saturday. I would have had my brother-in-law get me a set of General or Continental winters but I have some Canadian Tire money to use up so these Coopers will be free including installation and swapping my spare out for the 5th Grabber ATX.
