After receiving your new Ford Ranger you should/need to preform two training exercises.

#1. Perform setting up the supplied screw jack and lowering the spare tire down.
#2. Removing the tailgate.

Both procedures are in the supplied owners manual and its a lot easier to do it "before" then to fumble around when you really need to perform these exercises.;)

Ive been practising engine and transmission removal as well, just in case my oil change schedule goes awry. Never know when you'll need to swap one out.
Are Those RANGER PRIDE icon flags for sale?

That’s definitely some good advice. I’ll try out the spare tire tomorrow or later next week before I have my spare swapped out for a matching larger size. I’ll definitely be putting it back up the opposite way because there’s not much worse than needing your spare and finding out it’s flat!

Lowered my spare yesterday. That’s the easiest and fastest one I’ve ever done on a truck, aside from removing the car seat to get to the handle under the back seat!

Why do I need to practice removing the tailgate?

Anything greater than 485 pounds will damage the aluminum tailgate but if all you are hauling are kayaks you need not to worry.;)

Good advice for all, especially setting up the screw jack.
Of equal importance are roadside emergency items, such as a basic first aid kit, wheel chock, flares, reflectors, flashlight, gloves and some sort of reflective garment.
Perhaps other members can add to this list?
