I was looking through the FORScan spreadsheet codes and noticed coding for a heated steering wheel.
Does anyone know if a heated steering wheel from an F150 could be adapted to the new Ranger?
Where can I find this forscan spread sheet please

Hi Floyd,

Oh Yeah...I like the nail dryer idea, but need one a the feet too as I always get a Mani-Peti... Guess I will pull the fuse for the heated wheel and also the heated/Cool seats in my Lincoln MKX as I need to ensure I am not binned in the Metro bin...but a manly man... Why on earth would Ford offer such creature comforts to Manly Men?

Best,

Long thread. Tutorial in post #1 along with a detailed feature list.

I got my heated steering wheel done on my 150. I'm thinking this can't be retrofitted into the Ranger unless there is an exact match on another Ford product of the steering column. The steering wheel airbag connections go through the clockspring. That would be something I wouldn't want to hack around.

Again, I've looked at it and the closest thing that appears to match is the previous Explorer. If you look it's pretty much the same steering wheel. I see them all day in our fleet.

The way to tell would be the clockspring part number. Check both of them and see if they match. If they do, you could make it work. If they don't, for safety reasons, I wouldn't attempt it.

I'm only stating this because everyone keeps bringing up F-150. I have no way to compare clocksprings any time in the near future. I'm putting this out there so anyone else that has the time can look into something that may work.

Even if it did work, how would it be turned on or off? Is the button normally right on the steering wheel?

It's on the sync screen.

Like stated above, when enabled, it's on the SYNC screen. You can enable the heated and cooled seats on the home screen as well.

I had a 2016 Explorer XLT with a heated steering wheel. I was turned on/off on the climate control screen.

btw, the only thing I miss on my 2021 Ranger Lariat is a heated steering wheel. At least it's only during a few months of the year.
