Browsing through all of these threads, I haven't stumbled across any reverse light upgrades. Well, that's not entirely true - I believe one of the in the tailgate pinch weld area mods had a reverse light as well, but that's it.
Looking at the area, I'm not entirely sure where I would mount one. At first I was thinking that since I use my hitch almost exclusively for a bike rack, that perhaps I would bolt something on to the attachments for the chains. I still think that's probably the best location as it wouldn't reduce ground clearance / departure angle, nor would it mess with the sensors.
But it does require then a custom bracket as they're at a weird angle. So before I go and get something fabricated, I was wondering what others have been doing? I'm also considering mounting them up high on my Yakima Overhaul HD rack (whenever it comes in from the dealer). But my concern with that is how to efficiently wire it. The best that I'm come up with is to ensure whatever wiring I do to the rack, I would have to put through at the end where the tonneau cover hits the tailgate... and hope that I still get a good seal on the reset of the tailgate with a wiring harness in the way. Or I could drill a hole through the bed rail and tonneau cover rail for the wires - but the problem with that (besides drilling my truck) is that I wouldn't be able to put a disconnect if I take the rack off. Or I'd have to drill the hole so large that the disco can fit through it.
