I'm in the process of focusing on bed protection.
The truck (Lariat FX4 with most options) has the Ford factory spray on bed liner. It pretty nice even though it's NOT as nice as Linex.
So far I have two of the swing cases that I just received and have not yet installed.
I've also ordered an A.R.E. Z2 topper that should be in this month. It'll have roof rails and the door latch programmed to my key fob. Oh, and of course interior lighting as well.
I want to install a bed liner - for just the floor and tailgate, not the sides. I'm looking for mostly comfort of kneeling as I move around inside. I'm older and my knees need some loving care.
Does anyone have any experience with a good quality bed liner that has adequate padding for my old bones. I'm hoping they make a carpet type and not a rubber top one. Carpet on the top, padding underneath. I like to ones I've seen that have the flexible seam between the bed and tailgate. That seems to be a smart protection for the painted edge and dirt falling in that gap.
Most of the things I'll carry will be in bins and such but I will carry gas from time to time for our quads and generators. For that reason, I plan on laying a mat - like the ones they use for carrying chlorine. The hope is to catch any spillage and not get on the bed mat.
Also, I'm not sure how they fasten to the bed...especially the tailgate. I'm really hoping NOT to drill any holes in the bed or tailgate for installation.
ANY comments or recommendations are appreciated.
