I live in Ohio and purchased a new Ranger back in April. I use 91 octane in the Ranger, used regular in the last truck so never noticed this before. Some of the Sunoco stations have 4 grades of fuel in 87, 89, 91 and 93 while others sell 3 grades with the 91 missing. The 93 is about $.35 higher than 91 which makes sense. But, I can't figure out why only a few stations sell the 91 octane.

Has anyone else noticed the difference in what is available through Sunoco?

When I lived in NJ a year or so ago, Sunoco had 87,89,93 and 94.

The mid grade is a mix of the low and high grades. For some reason they just have 2 different mixing pumps instead of 1.

Sunocos around us are typically small family owned operations without the infrastructure to support 4 fuel grades. But you can also find some that offer ethanol free or and even VP race fuel on pump
